Apparently, my DP was going to be a Merlin (chosen by his dad) but it was vetoed by his mum.
They went for Tristan instead, thankfully . Are you going for a knights of the round table/Arthurian style name?

Makes me think of Warwick castle and Chessington World of Adventure and other attractions a Merlin pass gets you into.

I knew a Merlin, who really suited it. He was Welsh - I wonder if it's more common there?

I used to know a man called Merlin. Very nice person but his name was so odd. People were always making comments to his face and laughing about it. I wouldn't do it.

It isn't my taste. Great name for a dog (my auntie's dog is called Merlin), less good for a human.
