Girls:

Bonnie
Mabel
Sadie
Esme

Boys:

Zachary
Rory
Sonny
Dexter

We are keeping our name choices from family and friends as we want it to be a complete surprise but can't come to a conclusion together.

Looking for a general public consensus so would you please be able to number them 1-4 from most favourite to least. Smile

I suggest that you get a dice and roll it, 1 to 4 you get a name, if you roll a 5, you go out together for the evening, if you roll a 6, you stay in together and go to bed early! great fun can be had by all, either you get a name, or you have fun together! what can be better!

Okay so by the looks of it, Mabel and Dexter are out. This process of elimination is working well

I think we will go with Zachary for a boy, still undecided for the girls name. I LOVE Bonnie and it goes really well with our surname as it's Scottish. Is Esme too overused?

Okay, definitely going to go with Zachary.

What would you choose between Bonnie and Sadie?

I think Esme is going to be too overdone because of Twilight and I also wouldn't want any pronunciation problems (for starters DH likes 'Ez-may' I like 'Ez-me')
I really like Mabel, but I like the others more so that should come off too.

It's a cut throat business.

Beamur · 16/09/2013 19:29

I don't think I can choose between them - both good names. Why not have a joint preferred name and decide when baby arrives? I had a 'shortlist' of about 4 names we liked the most, but then chose a name from the 'longlist' that we thought hadn't made the cut.
Love DD's name and it suits her perfectly.

CourgetteSmuggler · 16/09/2013 20:55

Thanks Beamur.

With DD she didn't have a name for 3 days as we were so disorganised.

In hoping that finding out the gender this time will cut our problem in half!

Funnily enough our cat is called Sadie and DS1 is called Zachary! I like Sadie and Bonnie equally- I think they are lovely and underused. I don't know any Sadies (apart from the cat) and I know one adult Bonnie. There are two Esmes at our toddler group.

CourgetteSmuggler · 17/09/2013 10:02

I think it's a two horse race between Sadie and Bonnie.
I do have a problem with each though..

Would Bonnie be too childish for when She's an adult?
Is Sadie a bit 'chavvy'? Blush
