Claudia has such an unfortunate meaning - I would hate my dd to ask me why we named her a name that is directly derived from the latin for disabled. There are so many other beautiful names with nicer or no meanings.

The name claudia predates the Emperor Claudius (from whom the association with lameness is derived). In roman mythology Claudia was a vestal virgin who saved her father from attack. I think it's lovely!
