need opinions on baby name

We are expecting a beautiful baby girl and we have chosen Rylee Rayne as first and middle name..... let me know what you think as we have had some negative feedback from family members.... They say that she will always been explaining how to spell her name because it is spelled funny... My name is Brittany, a very common name and I spent my life explaining how to spell my name because of the different variations. I didnt think this was a big deal... but apparently others do... what do you think?

Riley, rylee...

Personally I don't like it.

Sorry but it's trying too hard IMO but if you rylee love it then do it. We cannot all like the same or there would only be a few names used in the world.

Middle names - to me they don't matter as much to what people think as hardly anyone hears them and if you hate your kiddie name you just pretend you don't have one. I like the approach of using family names for middle names.

What about spelling Riley Raine? Although sorry still not my cup of tea. Riley is a boys name imo

Don't like it, sorry. Don't like alliterative names, don't like surname names, don't like boys' names used as names for girls, and don't like strange spellings and this combines all of those. Sorry but it's not for me.

Not keen. maybe you could spell it either Riley like the sur name, or Rylie to rhyme with Kylie. If you can say to people like kylie but with an R, they'll get it.

it is very American. which is fine, but I think it will offer itself up to sounding very dated soon.

I don't dislike all American names though. Like Shelby and Wendel which I read in a book.

I agree with remus and coconutty. I don't like it personally but you're the one having the baby, so if you like it, you have it.

Same with the spelling, it's up to you but I'd find it annoying to have to spell it all the time. If there is a traditional spelling then why not use it?

I have to agree the spelling looks very American and makey uppey to me, Riley is better.

I think if there is a traditional spelling it would be Riley like the sur name! so you can either say 'riley like mavis' or Rylie like Kylie!

Just my personal opinion but if you have to say rylee like, r, y, l, ee, ee.

life is too short.

Honestly? I think it's absolutely dreadful, I'm sorry. I even hate the conventional spelling (Riley), but Rylee is even worse. I generally hate 'surnames' as first names. Also, Rayne...I do not like it. The combo of Rylee Rayne (the two 'r's) just makes it sound worse. I hate to sound rude but I have nothing positive to say, sorry. In the end, she's your daughter but I honestly think people should consider how the child might feel as she grows up.

It is a boys name anyway but spelt to make it girly.
Tis a bit chavvy too.

Renee is prettier.

Sorry, just to add, if the baby will have the surname Robinson (as per your username) I think three R names is pushing it....it starts to sound like a tongue twister.

If it is the name you want for your dd then you should use it and not worry what other people think. I didnt tell anyone my ds's name until he was born. I dont know what people think about his name and it doesnt matter because that is his name and it suits him.

You did ask, so I'm going to be honest. I don't like the names, and I don't like the spelling.

I think Riley Rain is nicer.

And I quite admire people who give their kids bonkers names!

How pregnant are you? I had the craziest shortlist when I was preg, its ok to put these " names" down on a piece of paper and put it somewhere. Then you can laugh and say, "What were we thinking ??" when you come across them in a couple of years time.

Sorry but I agree with all of the above. It's your choice at the end of the day but I think both names are dreadful and sound made up.

Dislike it. A lot. Sorry. Plus I had two Rileys in my class last year who were boys so I can't see past that.

I think they're dreadful names too. Rayne is a shoeshop, so Rain or Raine is preferable.

The name that popped into my head has already been suggested: Renée (pronounced Re-nay). Much more classy with a bit of European glamour, and she gets her own classic song into the bargain.

Personally I don't think I'd put them together, but Renée Raine is infinitely better than Rylee Rayne.
