Girls names - quirky yet classic but not too "try-hard"?

Baby girl due in September. Initially I wanted names like Francesca, Tabitha, Theodora, Cecilia... I love them all but DH ruled them all out because they sound "too fussy".

Our shortlist now looks like this:

Etta, Nancy, Pearl - what else might I like?

Surname begins with R.

Erin or Eric/ka - (poss nn Rikki)
Ramona if it sounds ok with your surname - some alliterative names sound really cool, some quite cringey.

Other non-frilly girls names I like are Nina, Ruth, Martha, Kate, Zoe

Or you could have Frankie or Thea or Celia - less fussy versions of the names you love

I am always amazed at how underused Esther is. Gorgeous name. Not so sure about Hester, although the one I have known was utterly lovely. Not convinced on Pearl but like Nancy and Etta. Would also through in Verity and Honor. Love Ruth too - another underused one IMO.

Oh wow, so many brilliant suggestions thank you!

I love Betsy, Ramona, Quinn (I wanted Queenie on our list but DH said he would divorce me (haha!) but I just showed him this and he doesn't mind Quinn!) - going on our list - keep 'em coming!

Marnie, Martha, Hester, Erin and Veronica are all lovely but the "r" in them just doesn't sound right with our surname!
