What do you think?

Charles Edward Hugh

or

James Edward Hugh

Surname starts with 'M' and is 3 syllables.

I did just think of having Hugh as the only middle name, however I felt esp with James, James Hugh seemed a bit short or unfinished.

Looking for a classic but not overly popular name, suggestions very welcome.

I like them both, but personally would prefer Edward as the first name, with Charles Hugh or James Hugh as the middles. Also, 'James Edward' just screams Jedward to me.

Redblackcar2 · 03/06/2013 20:50

Love James don't really like Charles

LittleprincessinGOLDrocks · 03/06/2013 20:51

I like Edward James Hugh as an option. I am not a fan of the name Charles at all.

farmersdaughter · 03/06/2013 20:51

Pelvic my dh is E, so can't really use it otherwise I would.

Jedward Shock right okay, can't see that myself but something to think about.

Seeing Charles Hugh written down, looks good. Not sure about James Hugh.

DH name is Edward not starting with an E, just to clarify.

i immediately thought Charles Edward looked the best.

ChippingInWiredOnCoffee · 03/06/2013 21:23

Charles Edward - you don't really need the Hugh.

ChippingInWiredOnCoffee · 03/06/2013 21:24

Oh and only if you promise to only, ever, actually, call him Charlie :)

Layl77 · 03/06/2013 21:29

James Edward hugh

farmersdaughter · 03/06/2013 21:32

Yes Chipping I promise...Grin

I want Hugh as a mn as it's a very special family name.

Can anyone suggest a name with Hugh as the middle name?

OP posts:
bootsycollins · 03/06/2013 21:38

I'd go with James Edward Hugh

Alexander Hugh is my random suggestion Smile

PelvicFloorClenchReminder · 03/06/2013 21:39

Would William work? Or maybe Benedict?

Leeds2 · 03/06/2013 21:58

I would choose James Edward Hugh. Not a fan of Charles, tbh.

eatyourveg · 03/06/2013 22:08

Sebastian Hugh? Charles Edward Hugh is best though

hellokitty123 · 03/06/2013 22:11

How about these classic but not overly popular suggestions to go with middle name Hugh:

Sebastian Hugh
Damian Hugh
Philip Hugh
Quentin Hugh
Tristan Hugh

mysterymeg · 03/06/2013 22:23

MikeOxard · 03/06/2013 22:26

JamieandtheMagicTorch · 03/06/2013 22:43

JamieandtheMagicTorch · 03/06/2013 22:43

Alexander

humblebumble · 03/06/2013 22:45

I know a Jeffery Hugh

farmersdaughter · 05/06/2013 14:38

Thank you everyone for your suggestions.

Sebastian - Already used by a very good friend.
Damian - Not my cup of tea,
Philip - Due to family reasons can't use this
Quentin - No
Tristan - Have suggested this severally time even for DD, and DH said no.
David - No, not really us.
Nicholas - Possibly
Stephen - No from DH
Jonathan - My ex, annoying as I do like Jon.
Patrick - Can i use it if we're not Irish?
Michael - Can't see DH going for it.
Alexander - Love it, however family member is Alex. Possibly Xander as a nn.
Jeffery - I did suggest this, DH flat out no.

Any other suggestions? Flowers

I love the name James. Always have. However we couldn't use it as I had an ex called James (for all of about 6 weeks! Hmm)

TotallyEggFlipped · 05/06/2013 14:44

What about Edmund instead of Edward?

themilkmonster · 05/06/2013 14:45

Much prefer James to Charles.

farmersdaughter · 05/06/2013 14:53

Totally oddly I'm not at all keen on Edmund, I think it's the mund bit. DH is Ed so it would get very confusing having too Ed's in the house Grin

I think i'm leading towards James more so that Charles. I also just think we'd call him Charlie so it might at well be just Charlie and drop the Charles.

Can anyone tell me, why is Jamie seen at a naughty boys name and James isn't. Just something I overheard in a coffee shop over the weekend. yes I was being nosy Blush
