It's a girl! Shortlist decided but just can't choose.

We finally have a shortlist of 3 names for our little girl due in a few weeks:

India
Claudia
Merryn

Middle name is most likely going to be Fay (my mother's name)

I really love all of them but my reservations are:
India - a bit too leftfield?
Claudia - a bit harsh/stuffy?
Merryn - a bit plain?

These are only little niggles so really struggling to choose!
I just need some opinions! No holds barred :)

Merryn is a beautiful name. I'm not keen on the others.

Congratulations!

wannabedomesticgoddess · 24/05/2013 08:55

They are all nice, but Merryn is my favourite.

whyno · 24/05/2013 09:00

Claudia for me. Beautiful and underused.

Won't be harsh or stuffy unless your family is which I'm assuming not since you're concerned about it.

BikeRunSki · 24/05/2013 09:01

Merry is my favourite by far.

Thisisanoutrage · 24/05/2013 09:02

Merryn for me too.

BreasticlesNTesticles · 24/05/2013 09:05

I have a Claudia - so clearly my favourite!

They are all quite different types of names though imo. Just an observation Smile

xigris · 24/05/2013 09:05

I like them all! Fab names Grin

Merryn. Not keen on India, sorry.

squiddle · 24/05/2013 09:12

I love Merryn, like Claudia and find India a bit irritating.

boatclub · 24/05/2013 09:16

I love Claudia and think it will sound best with Fay. Wishing you a happy birth Smile

mumbaisapphire · 24/05/2013 09:19

I have a Claudia right now asleep in my arms. I don't find it stuffy or harsh at all. If anything I was drawn to it because it feels like such a luxurious name if that makes sense! I also love India too but DP struck that one off the list early on. Merryn is pretty as well.

mumbaisapphire · 24/05/2013 09:21

Forgot to say, why not just wait and see which name she suits when she arrives. It's easier when they are here to put a name to a face I found. You have a short list so just try them out. Sometimes it is obvious.

IKnowWhat · 24/05/2013 09:23

I love Merryn the most, closely followed by Claudia.

I am not too keen on India though. I don't think it's leftfield. (Leftfield can be good Smile )

Linguaphile · 24/05/2013 11:04

I really like Claudia. Pretty and underused. Only possible hang-up for me is the meaning, but presumably you're not too worried about that.

Startail · 24/05/2013 11:18

Merryn, then Claudia, but I think you'll know when you meet her.

My little dainty DD1 would have made a perfect Merryn, but not a Claudia. Claudia would have suited DD2.

I like India, but it has to feel right to you. We're to middle of the road for an India.

Littlecherublegs · 24/05/2013 11:46

In order of preference:

Merryn
Claudia

India

Though it's a close call between the first two!

Elquota · 24/05/2013 11:52

Another vote for Merryn.

shez29 · 24/05/2013 12:09

I love india.

JojoMags · 24/05/2013 12:58

Not India. The other two are gorgeous. Probably Claudia for me.

LentilAsAnything · 24/05/2013 13:08

What about Indiana, instead of India?
I like Merryn, and also Meredith.

justhayley · 24/05/2013 13:13

I love India.
But agree with what others have said - keep all 3 for when she's born and see what suits

Hashtagwhatever · 24/05/2013 13:14

Merryn is my fave of the choices too.

Timetoask · 24/05/2013 13:15

India is a country!!!

Claudia is lovely.

samuelwhiskers · 24/05/2013 13:16

I love India, but Claudia nearly as much.
