Jacob.

Noah, too trendy and of the moment.

notso · 22/05/2013 11:57

Noah.

Jacob is a bit meh IMO.

Love Jonah, go for that.

perplexedpirate · 22/05/2013 12:03

Jonah is a great idea! Brava, that woman.

lollydollydrop · 22/05/2013 12:13

LOL at the farting down a drainpipe! I think I was around for that comment too. I have liked Noah since before it became 'trendy' which is a real shame. Jacob is lovely too.. My oH is a James so they would have same initials..

Whats Twilight? That stuff really doesnt bother me at all.

LOL at cheesestraw good point!

For the people who said that Noah/Jacob was or wasnt popular where you live, what part of the country are you in?

I dont like Jonah, reminds me of a whale too much and it would get shortened to Jo which I HATE

Noah.

KittenofDoom · 22/05/2013 14:08

Also there's a really embarrassing passage in the Bible where Noah gets pissed and takes all his clothes off Grin

lollydollydrop · 22/05/2013 15:17

HAHAHA! I like it kitten- reminds me of Prince Harry!! Grin

Jacob. Love it. DS4 wil never be, but if he was he would be Jacob.

Pobblewhohasnotoes · 22/05/2013 15:28

Kitten, that makes me love the name Noah even more!

sweetkitty · 22/05/2013 17:30

I'm in central Scotland and Jacob not common. Common boys names around here are Callum, Lewis, Connor, Finlay, Logan, Kyle, Ryan, Andrew, Daniel.

Loads of boys have Scottish names, surnames as first names very common, Jacob would be seen as a Jewish name, very uncommon until Twilight, and no I didn't call mine after a werewolf :)

babyphat · 22/05/2013 19:20

I'm in London. Know lots of Noahs, lots of Jakes but no actual Jacobs.

eatyourveg · 22/05/2013 19:33

Why do I never see Jethro on these threads? Is it really that vile? I absolutely love it!

Prefer Noah to Jacob

kerala · 22/05/2013 19:34

Be prepared though they are both super popular which would put me off. There are loads of both round here.

Still18atheart · 22/05/2013 20:00

Prefer Jacob by miles

lollydollydrop · 22/05/2013 20:41

Thanks all, popularity cant really affect me that much when its such a struggle finding names I/we both like in the first place! My OH has been set on Noah for 4 years, he's going to be gutted if I veto it..

I dislike that there is no nickname/short version of Noah- I like variety in what I call my friends/family/pets etc!! But at the same time, I would try to stick with the full Jacob and Jake rarely, rather than default Jake iykwim
