What names have you heard recently to make you stop in your tracks and wonder if the parents are a bit mad?

My most recent favourite is... Flossy, for a girl.
Made worse because my dads pet name for me is Flossy, or Floss. So to hear it as an ACTUAL name just makes me gawp.

Worst boys name - Banjo.

Rumer (girl). Turns out to be the first name of a "Virago modern classic" author. Who'd have thought it?

lollypopsicle · 09/05/2013 21:33

Lolly. Not short for anything. Named so because the mother craved lollipops during pregnancy. And no, it wasn't me, despite my username Grin

Star (6 yr old girl). Luckily for her she can pull it off.

SweetTeaVodka · 09/05/2013 21:35

Flossie and Dotty I have encountered a few times round these parts - comeback, maybe?

I met a Pixie, and a newborn Kenny the other day.

SirChenjin · 09/05/2013 21:35

My great great aunt was called Florence and her nn was either Floss or Flossie, and she was born at the end of the 1890s, so nothing new under the sun Smile

mathanxiety · 10/05/2013 03:28

First name Raelynn, middle name Yovonne. I kid you not.

BookieMonster · 10/05/2013 03:31

Banjo might be understandable if there's an Australian connection. One of Australia's foremost poets (Waltzing Matilda, The Man from Snowy River etc.) was A.B. "Banjo" Paterson.
I know a baby Electra.

Breezy1985 · 10/05/2013 04:07

I know a baby boy called Random surname Chance - Random Chance!

Also know a baby girl called Jellybean Hmm
