Just thinking we're nearly into May so what names given to newborns have you heard recently? Let spot any trends.

It seems to fall into a few camps.
I hate to say this but there is a definite difference depending on background and social class.
So more working class are either going for the diminutive form
Alfie,Archie,Freddie,Frankie,
Professionals seem to use the traditional versions, so more Arthur,George,Alfred,Stanley, Hugo (this is gaining popularity)
Then there is a definite group who use J& K names and made up spellings
Kale,Jaygo, Jaxxon, Jaxx, kayden/kaiden,kai,kae

I decided to look at the ones that had been mentioned more than 10 times, some were close but the following are the leaders

Isla - 21
Finn - 19+ (some people mentioned 'loads of Finns')
Jack - 19
Amelia - 17 (+ 7 Amelies)
Isabel/Isabelle/Isabella - 17
William - 15
Oliver - 15
Olivia - 14
Lily/Lilly/Lillie - 14
Charlotte - 13
Mia - 13
Arthur - 12
Grace/Gracie - 12
Matilda/Mathilda - 12
Max - 12
Sophie - 11 ( + 5 Sophias)
Finlay/Finley -11

So in answer to a few people's questions - yes Isla really IS that popular! lol
