Short, "springy" names for girls?

We're having a DD next month and have pretty much decided on the first name Margaret. (She'll be Maggie for short)

DH wants something like Grace in the middle but I'd like something a little different.

We've had five more inches of snow this week and I feel like winter is going to last forever!

I'd quite like to give my May baby a middle name that reminds men of Spring.

I like Wren and Lilac...any other suggestions?

A month name would be good :) Perhaps April to remind u of the spring that was more like winter xx May is good though,very common here in the uk (going by the more snow part I'm guessing ur not in the uk?)

What about Phoebe?

Although, Maggie May is lovely And, she would have her own song.

The trouble with names like May is that they have become clichés, filler names that have almost lost their true meanings through overuse. Violet, Daisy, Rose - all "names" rather than flowers.

I think you need something a little less established as a name, and as it's a middle name you can get away with it.

Sorry, none of these are short but am trying to think of seasonal blooms, rather than random "nature" names. As you are in the USA, OP, perhaps you have some other spring-flowering plants that I'm not familiar with.

Daphne always seems very springy to me. It means 'laurel'
Chloe means 'green shoot'.
Roisin (fada accents on O and second I are missing as my number pad is full of something sticky DD4 spilled onto the keyboard) means 'rosebud'. Pronounced ROE-sheen.

The title just made me think Zebedee Margaret Zebedee would be a pretty special name though wouldn't it! I always wanted a 'z' name.

Most of the spring related names seem to be flowers (Iris, Hazel?). One suggestion I quite liked was looking at migrating birds that come your way in spring. Perhaps there's one with a nice sounding name?

Are you in Minnesota CheerfulYank? I've a friend who lives there and it sounds like the weather has been terrible this spring. Maybe you need a summery warm name instead! Or maybe 'Hope'!

You could try something from this list of wildflowers - short options include Rue, Cress (I don't think Cress would really work, but Margaret Cressida sounds nice), Cynthia, Lucy, Cicely, Lily and Violet.

I am Nooka. I love Minnesota but it's getting to be a bit much this year.

I will look at birds. I really like Wren but DH is not sold.
