Whatever you choose someone somewhere will hate it, someone else will love it.

We had dc4 on Tuesday and am Shock at how fucking rude some people can be re names.

I have chosen a name I love so fuck everyone else.

IfUSeekAmy · 13/04/2013 09:53

Congratulations Snob. Someone asked me what dd3 name was once and then said 'what on earth did you call her that for?!'
I just said, 'Um, well we both liked it!' Couldn't really think of another answer!!

mrsjay · 13/04/2013 09:57

some of the old names were quite popular when i had the DDs makes me feel ancient, Fionas claires sarah was normal names when dd1 was born she isn't 1 of them but her name is here too, funny how names come and go

mrsjay · 13/04/2013 09:58

usualsuspect · 13/04/2013 09:58

My Eldest DDs name always appears on these lists.

YoniBottsBumgina · 13/04/2013 09:58

I bet Karen will be more popular though because of Outnumbered.

What about Colin Grin

mrsjay · 13/04/2013 10:00

I know a 19/20 yr old Colin

NeoMaxiZoomDweebie · 13/04/2013 10:01

I like Jeannie

DeskPlanner · 13/04/2013 10:03

Has your eldests name appeared yet, usual ?

Pascha · 13/04/2013 10:05

One of my nephews is Stuart. The only one of his age we know. His older brother mentioned it and his mum and dad really couldn't find a reason not to have it.

I like Karen but I can't say Claire is as nice.

x2boys · 13/04/2013 10:06

I like classic names but names such as darren ,karen you kind of know they are going to be late 30,to late 40,s and kylies and scotts will have been born around late 80,s early 90,s i know i,m a name snob!

Pascha · 13/04/2013 10:07

Congratulations EnormaSnob Flowers. You know that whatever you have chosen is the right name and in a few months time nobody will bat an eyelid or imagine them as being anything else.

Care to mention what name you chose?

mrsjay · 13/04/2013 10:09

I worked in a nursery end of the 80s and i couldnt move without tripping over Kylies and jasons they were everywhere Grin

mrsjay · 13/04/2013 10:11

Start of the 90s I meant to add that

johnworf · 13/04/2013 10:11

I'm late 40's and remember all of these names as my peers at school. Deborah, Elaine, Gwen, Fiona, Jane, Susan, Melanie, Tania, Sharon, christine, Alison, Joanne, Beverley, Anita, Julie. And for boys, Carl, John, Stephen, Gary, Ian, David, Simon, Andrew, Neil, Mark, Michael, Philip, Greg, Anthony, Neville, Darren, Colin, Keith, Peter.

Like most things, I guess there'll be a renaissance at some point Smile

Name your child what you feel comfortable with. It's no one elses business but yours.

LouiseSmith · 13/04/2013 10:13

I want a Grace and Phoebe, If I ever have a girl.

I like Douglas, and George for a boy.

My grandfather had Redwood as a middle name.

xx

lljkk · 13/04/2013 10:13

Karen will be very trendy in 30 yrs. Go for it if you love it.

x2boys · 13/04/2013 10:19

it would just seemn really weird to me to think of a lovely cute baby derek or maureen but they must have been loads in the 40,s and 50,s!

mrsjay · 13/04/2013 10:20

I never understood why Karen was called Karen in out numbered she was way to young to be a karen Confused

chickensaladagain · 13/04/2013 10:21

I'm offended that you think Karens are late 30s or older!

I have a niece called karen and last time I checked she was still in primary school Wink

IfUSeekAmy · 13/04/2013 10:24
