This is my list of names, from the MN name finder, which I think are nice. DP has said no to almost all of them but he also hasn't come up with any good alternatives. Finnan is the front runner at the moment (Finnan as a full name but generally known as Finn) but I don't know if I like it enough to use it?

I'm 37 weeks PG. Please inspire me with your clever suggestions Smile

Arlo
Devon
Dylan
Eden
Finn
Finnan
Lucas
Milo
Mylo
Noah
Quinn
Reuben
Roman
Tristan

I like almost all of them, great taste Wink

This may be a case of waiting until the baby's born, and seeing what name he suits best...

Arlo- I absolutely adore it,it's my sons name, but it seems to be growing in popularity pretty fast in some circles.
Devon-no
Dylan- love love love
Eden -no
Finn- Love, but all forms of Finn/Finley etc are very VERY popular, much to my dismay.
Finnan-love,but,as above v popular.
Lucas- popular,but nice
Milo-like it (but it is a brand of drink in Australia,if that would bother you.)
Mylo-no
Noah-I like it
Quinn- hmm,I like it,I think
Reuben- love this
Roman- no
Tristan- I like this a lot ,and I've only ever known one.

We had a DD but we said if it was a boy it would be Lucas or William. We loved Archer as a middle name. We also liked Randolph but worried he would be called Randy. It definitely wouldn't have matched the surname. Oh, the teasing!
What are your husband's suggestions, if he doesn't like yours?

HorryIsUpduffed · 12/03/2013 10:05

I didn't like any names when DC2 was imminent (except what DH had vetoed Hmm ) and felt very lacklustre about what we did choose.

But it does suit him, and the names I liked wouldn't. I'm sure in a few months' time you'll be quite happy.

RightUpMyRue · 12/03/2013 11:20

Thanks all for the suggestions so far. Smile

Still nothing grabbing me and saying "that's my boy!".

It may have to be a case of seeing his face first and then deciding (although we've sort of seen his face already- 3d scan pic on profile).

Love Quentin, nickname Quinn!

Also like Elliot, Reuben, Roman and Tristan.

bridgetsmum · 12/03/2013 11:52

How about Declan

goodjambadjar · 12/03/2013 12:07

You won't know til you meet him. It took us a week to name DD!

tammytoby · 12/03/2013 12:48

I'd avoid Finn as it is VERY widely used and may well start to sound dated as people tire of using it.

I love Arlo, Quentin, Quinn and Reuben from the suggestions.

Or how about Magnus, Sebastian or Darius?

Toby

Robin

TheGirlOnTheLanding · 12/03/2013 19:25

I'd avoid Finnan because for me, it's Finnan haddie (as in smoked fish). But Finn or Finlay is nice - as is Finnbarr. Or Phineas.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 12/03/2013 19:27

Arlo - no
Devon - no no
Dylan - ok
Eden - no
Finn - no
Finnan - no no
Lucas - yes
Milo - no
Mylo - no
Noah - yes
Quinn - reminds me of him in Jaws
Reuben - ok
Roman - no
Tristan - yummy

Lucas or Tristan - sorted! :)

almapudden · 12/03/2013 19:27

I like Eden very much.

SissySpacekAteMyHamster · 12/03/2013 19:30

I'm in the Reuben camp (with Noah as a close second).

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 12/03/2013 19:30

Robin, as suggested earlier, is lovely.

Also:

Fabian
Luke
Lucien

poppydaisy · 13/03/2013 13:55

Finn really is VERY popular, having rapidly risen up the popularity charts. I'd personally avoid it for that reason.

Love Reuben, Quentin, Tristan and Lucas (but less keen on nickname Luke).

RightUpMyRue · 13/03/2013 17:33

I do hear what you're all saying about the popularity of Finn but it doesn't even feature in last years top 100 boys names. Finley and Finlay do but not Finn and definitely not Finnan.

10 years ago I named DD the 4th most popular girls name in the country, without even thinking about whether it was popular or not, and she's the only one in her year of 90 children at school so I'm not overly convinced that popularity is a problem.

What is a problem is that I still can't see myself calling him any name at all Confused Maybe because until he is here I still won't quite believe I'm having another baby.

DP likes Dexter, which I do too but maybe as a middle name? DP would also quite like to call him Jean-Luc or Kirk Tiberius but the less said about that the better Hmm

Dylan!

vamosbebe · 13/03/2013 20:11

Jean-Luc Kirk Tiberius BRILLIANT!

I love Ruben/Reuben, Lucas, Milo, Roman from your list. Roman and Ruben were on our list, too, so slightly biased!

I also like Anton but it made DH throw up in his mouth a little Sad

CPtart · 13/03/2013 20:15

Adam
Luke
Dominic
Marcus
Evan
Benjamin
William
Edward
Zachary
Laurence

Like Lucas from your list but v popular at the moment. I know a girl called Eden...which would put me off.

HorryIsUpduffed · 13/03/2013 20:26

But if you add up all the Finns and Finleys and Finlays and Finlay-Joes or whatever, all of whom are known day to day as Fin(n), you end up with a very popular name - like Lily/Lilly/Lillie/Lily-Rose/Lily-May etc.
