Don't think of names that are cute for a baby, think of names that will be good when she is an adult. It lasts a lot longer than babyhood!

With the middle name Whitney I would avoid names ending in the long E sound like Casey or Gracie. I think it sounds to singsongy.

I would go for something that ends in A or -ine or N, TH or another consonant sound like the ending of Louise.

too singsongy

Georgia Whitney [Surname] sounds very nice..

Caitlin Whitney has too many Ns running together.

Really don't worry about cute names! You need something she'll be happy with at 3, 7, 12, 15, 18, 25! Our girls are Katherine (currently 13, known as Kathy, her choice!) and Rachel (9) who mainly goes by "Raaaaaaaach!!!" yelled all over the house!

Find something you can live with for years. Then settle in to it and enjoy it - and love it!

I have a Georgia .

I find it a lovely name coz it's not overly popular so you I doubt you will have 3 of them in a class :) its not cute using the nn Georg though so if you definitely want something cutesy you may need to look at nn's too !!

When I think cutesy I think Daisy, Maisy, Lottie, Milly, Lily, Lilia, Poppy, Coco, Evie....

Do like Georgia though.

DonkeysDontRideBicycles · 18/02/2013 12:26

I think Georgia is a classy, attractive name. I agree cute names would be flower names like Poppy or Lily, or something made up like Bliss or Cindy. After the age of 8 or 9 as hormones kick in the cuteness of children tends to change anyway.

O there is Georgina...

Just for variety there's an actress called Jorja who appears in "CSI" btw.

If you are set on Whitney as a middle name I think Georgia Whitney run very nicely together, just my opinion Smile

Love the name Gracie. That's one our list along with betsy. I know these are 'cute' names but don't like the original versions as much. ( Elizabeth/ Grace). I personally think these names are suitable all the way through life, especially with the type of names being used now for children. It I'll be the norm! Good luck choosing, it's such a big decision!
