Willow, Sophia or Lily?

I've just found out I'm going to have a little girl, so this is my shortlist:

Willow
Sophia
Lily

I'm in Scotland if that changes the popularity of names Smile, so what do you all think?

Im in NI and I know of 2 Willows born since start of Nov and 4 Sophias (including mine :o )

Sophia is obviously my favourite. But I prefer Lily to Willow!

Sophia. I looked after a beautiful Sophia when I was a nanny. She is now in her teens and is still beautiful. It's quite a strong name too, where as Willow sound more soft, although still lovely.
Congratulations!

Willow

then Sophia

Willow and Sophia are my two favourites but I can't decide between them both, I was thinking of maybe having Lily or Lucy as a middle name.

Thanks everyone. It's still a close choice between Sophia and Willow but I think we're going to go with Willow.

Erm, isn't Willow the name of a (male) dwarf in the film of the same name? en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Warwick_Davis

I guess it probably has some more recent popular culture references.. but ot me it brings to mind the chap in the link above.

Greensleeves · 30/12/2012 23:22

Willow is the name of LOTS of tv and movie characters. Why flag up that one? Hmm

I like Willow.

GingerJulep · 30/12/2012 23:25

Only because it is the one I think of... I liked the film a lot :-) And it is the title character.

But means I think of it as a boy's name.

Personally I prefer Sophia for a girl and I thought these threads were about seeking a range of opinions?

Greensleeves · 30/12/2012 23:29

It is a cool film, that was the first time I became aware of my burning need to shag Val Kilmer

but Willow reminds me more of the one in Buffy!

GingerJulep · 30/12/2012 23:34

I'm too old (or female, I remember some guys watching at uni) for Buffy!

zenoushka · 04/01/2013 16:29

Love the name Sophia.

lovedimsum · 04/01/2013 22:34

I would go for Willow, there are so many Sophias and Lilys around.

AuntieShirley · 05/01/2013 11:34

Willow

Alisvolatpropiis · 05/01/2013 12:35

I like Willow!

The dwarf in the film Willow and Willow from Buffy are equally tied in my mind when I think "what does that remind me of?".

Both are great characters so it's not a negative link. Though I do perhaps err more to seeing Willow as unisex because of the film whereas most people don't! Smile

Greensleeves Grin

I insisted for years that if I ever had any siblings and one was a sister she should be called Sorsha Blush. Ended up with a brother lucky for him
