I used to love the name Isobel but it is now very popular and the name of one of my nieces. So that's out.

Madeleine - no, I couldn't use that now.

Frances - used to love it, now gone off it.

Lily - I loved it but it's just so popular that I don't want to use it it now I'm actuallly pregnant!

Dogsmom · 29/12/2012 16:49

Again Lily, I've loved it for years, even when it was old fashioned and even used it for a dog who has been gone for 4 years but it's way too popular now, I'm 30wks pg with a little girl too so could have used it :(

almapudden · 29/12/2012 16:55

I used to love Charles, Alfred and Eleanor, but there are so many Charlies, Alfies and Ellies around that I went off them.

CruCru · 29/12/2012 17:30

Same with Ava, Eva, Evie, Amelia, etc. lovely names but I know so many that I couldn't use them.

Lemony

Rhubarbgarden · 29/12/2012 17:49

Freya, after watching TV drama Maelstrom about 25 years ago . Now it's really popular, dammit.

Ruprekt · 29/12/2012 17:50

I loved the name Chelsea when I was 14!!!!!!!!!!

And when I played Mums and Dads with my brothers, my favourite boy name was Graham!

Graham and Chelsea.

Just NO WAY NOW! Grin

Alisvolatpropiis · 29/12/2012 19:03

Ava.

I've loved it for years and years. Now,not only is it ridiculously popular but it sounds awful with both mine and DP's surnames.

When paired with DP's it sounds like Hilter's wife's name.

With mine the child would just get bullied.

StrawberryMojito · 29/12/2012 19:04

Rhiannon. Nothing wrong with it, just gone off it.

PessimisticMissPiggy · 29/12/2012 19:07

Alan. Yes Alan. When I was a kid I was convinced I would have an Alan!

Croccy1979 · 29/12/2012 19:09

Shannon. Used to love Shannon in Home and Away (Isla Fisher)

cashmere · 29/12/2012 20:06

Courtney (liked when a teen)

Lily, Amelia, Isabel, Grace, Olivia- too popular

Poss Annabelle (as like nickname Belle and so many Isabels)

Jack, Oliver, Harry- too popular...love Oliver though so may reconsider

Dylan-just gone off it.

sw11mumofone · 29/12/2012 20:36

Oooh Rhubarb - I watched Maelstrom too. LOVED it! Spent years wondering if they would ever show it again. They never did! :-(

Astralabe · 29/12/2012 20:37

Arlo - was going to use if DC1 had been a boy, now know about 6 different Arlos in Bristol..

mayanna234 · 29/12/2012 21:11

Lily/Evie/Ellie/Poppy/Sophie for girls Alfie/Archie/Artie/Charlie/Harry for boys - as they are now just far too popular and 'trendy'!

waferhappy · 29/12/2012 21:21

Gabriella

LetsKateWin · 29/12/2012 21:28

Sebastian - because I realised that I'm just not posh enough, but I always fancied Seb Coe when I was at school.

Boyd. I fancied Boyd Hilton too. Luckily I had a girl.

PrincessOfChina · 29/12/2012 21:33

I thought I would have the following when discussing it in 1994:

Kieran Matthew
Mark Ronan
Ruby Edith

I don't mind Kieran and Matthew but they're probably too pedestrian for me to actually use. Ruby is just way too popular and I won't even comment on Mark and Ronan :)

We did use Edith though as DD's middle name.

zapotek · 29/12/2012 21:34

Paris

CruCru · 30/12/2012 09:44

I also love Rosalind - but it sounds terrible with our surname. Such a pity. Also it would have to be shortened to Roz, not Rosie.

I used to love the name Isabella. Now it's just incredibly popular and I've gone off it.

Oh and Lily.

The names are the same as they were - still pretty and so on, but there are SO MANY of them!

belles2611 · 30/12/2012 17:35

I was just saying this morning I used to love Scott and Sarah wheel I was young but now bump is only 13 weeks away we have Scarlett rose for a girl and I love dexter for a boy but boyf isn't too keen !!

pictish · 30/12/2012 17:36

Jake and Megan.
By the time I had kids every second baby was Jake or Megan.

Ohmydarlin · 30/12/2012 17:41

Scarlett. Wanted this 11 years ago for DD1. Was still on the last for DD2 6 years ago but glad we didn't use this now. I think it will feel really dated in another 10 years or so.
