We've not managed to agree on a girls name in the last 7 months, and are getting tired of suggesting and discussing names.

Lovely mumsnetters, please tell us what we should call a daughter. Thank you.

Isabelle ?

Itsjustmeanon · 15/12/2012 16:51

I should mention I dislike frilly girls names.

I quite like Ava, but it doesn't work with our surname. DH likes Seren, but it's just not clicking into place for me.

I don't like girls names with -ie or -y ending.

I'm sorry we are so challenging.

Isabelle was my first thought. Annabelle, Arabella, Nancy?

charlottehere · 15/12/2012 16:52

My DS would have been, Mabel or Lois if he was a she.

ditavonteesed · 15/12/2012 16:52

Jaz sorry couldnt resist.

Itsjustmeanon · 15/12/2012 16:53

Out of the names suggested so far I like Madeleine, but for me I associate it with Madeleine McCann.

Sorry I am really difficult.

We're having Isabelle-Seren. I loved Seren but i know what you mean about not clicking as a first name.

What about Sorell? Its unusual and pretty but not frilly goes with Hugh nicely also.

Or:
Alayah
Jade
Grace/Gracie

charlottehere · 15/12/2012 16:57

Just call her baby and tell people you are a big dirty dancing fan. Grin

chocoluvva · 15/12/2012 16:57

Sounds like we have reasonably similar taste (i don't go for ie/ y names either), although I do think Madeleine is frilly.

What about:
Malin
Marin
(i'm not totally sure they are traditionally girls names but I like them)
Lois
Arden

Or, slightly different flavour:
Emma
Julia

chocoluvva · 15/12/2012 17:04

Matilda?
Jennifer?
Lillian?
Jasmine?

Bonsoir · 15/12/2012 17:04

Fleur

LaFataTurchina · 15/12/2012 17:05
