Hebrew girls' names?

We are still stuck for a baby name, with DD due any day now.

Any ideas for nice Hebrew names? DP prefers names that sound a bit 'girly' (hmmm) so he will never let me have something like 'Vered' but there must be some other lovely names out there.

Preferably not starting with 'A', either :). Would love to hear your ideas!

Is Lydia hebrew? It's a name I am very fond of.

I think it's Greek. I'm afraid it's too English for DP anyway :(

TeaDrinker, I couldn't agree more but where we live (NL) you get three days to register the birth and after that it's a done deal and you are stuck for life! No such thing as changing your name by deed poll. So I am feeling the pressure a bit :)

Yes I was thinking really classic Hebrew, as DP doesn't want an English name (so it would have to be Rahel rather than Rachel IYSWIM).

I think she's thinking of the English pronunciation which would be 'chavvy' ... But we can say a proper Hebrew 'ch' here in Amsterdam!!!

I love Yael. Not sure what DP will say ... Also love Rivka and Noa but these are unfortunately out as we already have them in the family (same with Rachel and Ariel).

I have a good friend called Chavi. She doesn't like it much.

Why 3 days, I've no idea - just Dutch law. It's 3 working days though, so if there's a weekend in the middle you get extra time. I'm Australian & find it a bit odd - I mean, what's the huge rush all of a sudden . But that's the law!

DD2 was going to be Abigail, but it is pronounced "Avigoyl" in Hebrew (according to her Israeli godmother) which is less pretty.
