Strong name for a girl?

Just back home with my new dd, who is very long! I suspect she's going to be very tall like her dad and now most of the names on my shortlist seem too girly. Any suggestions for 'strong' girls' names? Unusual is fine as her siblings have quite unusual names.

My DD is Alex (not Alexandra) I've always loved it for a girl and think it's a bit different (e1 always assumes I have 2 boys)

Congratulations! Probably not Miranda (and I am allowed to joke as a tall woman with a tall DS myself!)
I prefer girls names that are stronger, so in my opinion Margaret (greta), Bridget, Petra, Julia, Clara etc. are great names.

My tall daughter is Morven - it is a mountain in Scotland, so suits tall girls.

However, I think it is quite distinctly Scottish as English folks tend to look a bit at her name, whereas I went to school with a Morven and there are always one or two around - it is not common in Scotland, but not odd either.

I like it because it is simple, strong and you spell it like you say it.

I like Morven - we almost had a Blaven (another mountain in Scotland) but weren't brave enough, 2nd son was almost Cairn as we were trying to pick his name by sticking pins in the map - that's how my eldest became Craig rather than Gregor :) - and the amount of times we hit a Cairn was unreal - we shuffled the letters and ended up with Ciar Instead. I've also heard of a Merrick (another hill) but sure it was a boy - sounds more like a boy, but would maybe work for a girl??

Morven is lovely; we're in Scotland so wouldn't be a problem here; I have also seen Morvern in a book (Morvern Callar) but I think Morven is nicer. Just looked up Hippolyte which is the name of one of the Amazons which would be appropriate! But I'm worried about the obvious playground shortening. The queen of the Amazons was Penthesilea apparently; maybe a bit too much of a mouthful?

I'm tall and very girly, so you might not need to change names? :)

My aunt is Morven, and she's 4ft10 so not exactly a mountain! Lovely though

I have a very tall DD called Alana (also can be spelt Alannah) which means Rock or Loved One in Gaelic so pretty strong!
