I am in need of inspiration...so what's your very favourite name for a boy and for a girl!?

I have a super short shortlist but nothing jumping out at me so far and baby could be here any day now!

Imogen or Caitlin for a girl. Dexter or Holden for a boy.

MadStaringEyes · 15/08/2012 17:02

Wheres, i have an Alexander too. I live it, even with being asked if he's named after peppa pig by everybody with small children.

tara0202 · 15/08/2012 17:02

Keir and Cameron for boys and orla and lilia for girls :)

therumoursaretrue · 15/08/2012 17:04

Lots of Alexanders.

I am an Alexandra - I used to hate it as a child but I love it now. Am suprised it's not more popular.

NeedlesandPins · 15/08/2012 20:30

Tallulah or Harley - girls

Jayden, Charlie - boys

goGBTeacher · 15/08/2012 20:35

These are my favorite 'not names I could actually use'.

Ludo
Vera

Actually I regret not going for Ludo for DS- he looks like a Ludo and could totally pull it off. I didn't use it because I didn't like the full name Ludovic, I don't mind it now though. Howl.

0lympia · 15/08/2012 20:37

I'm not good with boys names, they all seem either too normal and dull or too poncey or too trendy.

Off the top of my head here, Patrick, Fergus, Gregor, Diarmuid, Saul, I think those are normal but interesting.

strugglingwiththepreteenbit · 15/08/2012 20:37

I love Matilda but don't want to use it as it rhymes with dd1. I love Stephen for a boy, but we already have one in the family and it would seem odd and innappropriate to use it.

Cupcakes24 · 15/08/2012 20:40

Nancy (if we ever have a 3rd she's already named!)
Edward (love all the short versions ed, eddie, ted, teddy)
Lenny (Len for short)

ColourMeWithChaos · 15/08/2012 20:44

Albert and Marianne

therumoursaretrue · 15/08/2012 22:35

Some lovely ones here. Love Charlie lots but DP not as keen.

Jude for a boy and Sylvie for a girl
Can't have either Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Polkadotfanatic · 15/08/2012 23:47

Poesy Alice Jane for a girl
Seth David Andrew for a boy

other names in my top ten include -
Thea, Phoebe, Polly, Zoe and Beatrix
Reuben, Amos, Cohen, Noah and Benjamin

:)

therumoursaretrue · 16/08/2012 13:31

Love Reuben but can't use it :-(
I find boys names difficult but we have been considering Noah.

If baby is a girl who knows!? My taste is totally different from DPs and I'm not sure how we will ever agree on something!

I too like Reuben, as well as Quentin, Sebastian and Dominic for boys.

Girls' names I like at the moment include Josephine, Clara and Sophia.

greenandcabbagelooking · 16/08/2012 13:51

Cora for a girl - but no one else seems to like it.
Cameron for a boy - but David has slightly spoilt it.
