I am in need of inspiration...so what's your very favourite name for a boy and for a girl!?

I have a super short shortlist but nothing jumping out at me so far and baby could be here any day now!

Here are the names we couldn't use that I loved:
Matilda or Posey for girls
Benjamin or Linus for boys

Laurence (Laurie, Larry), Francis (Frank, Fran, Frankie), Douglas (Doug, Douggie) for boys.

Sylvia (Sylvie), Violet (Vi), Delphine (Delphi) for girls.

Also Aubrey for a boy and Athenais for a girl in "names I love but wouldn't use" category.

Josephine and Casper.

Harley for a boy (DS's name) and my favourite girls' name is Marley but I can't use that :(. Next will probably be Nia or Tansy.

fanjodisfunction · 16/08/2012 14:33

Ophelia (DD1) Delphine, Callisto

Frederick, Lochlan, Ellias.

AnneOfCleavers · 16/08/2012 14:36

Claudia. I adore it but DP hates it with a passion. Other names I really like are Lydia, Imogen and Rachel.

Boys would be Benjamin, Thomas and Timothy.

VickyU · 16/08/2012 14:37

Elizabeth for a girl nn. Betty

Alexander for a boy (can't use so annoying)

babyblabber · 16/08/2012 18:47

Have Noah & Sophia and love Luca & Lola but DH hates Lola so maybe Chloe or I like Mila.

Some lovely ideas here. Nelly Seth is a favourite here but can't use it sadly.

Can't believe I will have a baby to name in the next few days! Smile

My sons name Kailum

I like Lily, Madison, Isabella

ArthurandGeorge · 16/08/2012 22:52

Daniel (not ds's name)

Isobel (dd's middle name).

Really like James for a middle name, think it goes well with lots of other names.

therumoursaretrue · 16/08/2012 22:52

Love Lily SP that's a definite possibility!

Yes think James will go well with most names and it would be after my dad.

My sons middle names are James Matthew

downbythewater · 16/08/2012 23:06

Nathaniel James is my favourite name for a boy. Nate as a nickname. I have 2 wonderful DDs and we're not planning any more apart from the fantasy DC3 in my head that 'accidentally' turns up in about 5 years

The girls name I never got to use is Tess Rebecca. LOVE Tess but DH vetoed it.

therumoursaretrue · 16/08/2012 23:27

Those 3 go really nicely together SP.

Water Nathaniel is a name I really want to like but it always reminds me of an ex with a similar name!
