Harriet/Hattie a million times nicer than Megan. I wanted it for dd2 but dp wouldn't let me.

AreYouAbleMabel · 26/07/2012 21:32

Megan is awful! Go with Harriet or Hattie!

cece · 26/07/2012 21:56

Smeggy Meggy - I used to have a dog called Meg - much fun had by teenager and her friends.

Go for Harriet.

SweetPea3 · 26/07/2012 22:34

Another vote for Harriet/Hattie

MagdalenaAlec · 26/07/2012 23:30

Harriet is fantastic, OP and so is Henry! Do not like Megan at all.

VolAuVent · 26/07/2012 23:32

Megan is much nicer than Harriet - it's a flowing, gentle sort of name, whereas Harriet is harsher.

shouldbedoingtheironing · 27/07/2012 11:46

Another vote for Harriet - I think it is prettier!

AKMD · 27/07/2012 12:10

Harriet is much nicer than Megan IMO.

Are you pg? I think that is, perversely, the worst time ever to be choosing baby names. I'm 28 weeks and am now mulling over names that I have loathed for years and wondering whether the nice name DH and I chose 4 years ago is really a bit rubbish. Bonkers.

minipie · 27/07/2012 12:14

In a minority but I much prefer Megan to Harriet. Harriet is a very hard name. Hattie is cute but so is Meg.

Olympicnmix · 27/07/2012 12:22

Henry is lovely.

I like Meg (as in Little Women) but not Megan, so would choose Harriet!

shimmy0 · 27/07/2012 12:23

I don't like Megan and I loathe Meg, it's just got this laziness about it. Sorry but when I hear of kids just being called Meg the first thing I think of is the kid's parents couldn't be bothered thinking of a longer name? Maybe I'm OCD but for me names should contain 4 or more letters.

squoosh · 27/07/2012 12:34

Megan over Harriet definitely. Much prettier, especially Meg.

Harriet is a battleaxe name.

squoosh · 27/07/2012 12:36

Harriet the Harridan.

BobbiFleckman · 27/07/2012 12:37

wait until you meet her and decude she looks exactly like a Jessica (or is she 5 weeks and 6 days already?)

AKMD · 27/07/2012 12:38

Megan the melon :p

AKMD · 27/07/2012 12:39

shimmy what about Amy?

squoosh · 27/07/2012 12:42

Maybe Megan the Megalomaniac Smile

AKMD · 27/07/2012 12:45

Ooo, check you and your six-syllabel insults.

AKMD · 27/07/2012 12:46

I can't even spell syllabel sillabelle syllable.

Yellowchair · 27/07/2012 13:31

Henry is lovely as is megan. Don't like Harriet.

kickingKcurlyC · 27/07/2012 19:57

You have to see what she looks like, if she is actually a she!

Lucaslovesfelicity · 27/07/2012 23:35

I prefer Harriet out of the two girls names and Henry is lovely too,

CharlieBoo · 28/07/2012 00:10

Harriet is far too masculine sounding for me, but don't go mad on Megan either...

GnocchiNineDoors · 28/07/2012 00:13

I have a Meg. So I am lazy and she is a chicken dog Grin

I love Harriett and it was also on 'my list' as was Alice.

You know, OP, you don't actually have to choose a name til about 6 weeks after they are here, so you could wait til you meet them before you decide.
