Boy is definitely Henry.

Girl was definitely Harriet... but I still like Megan Confused

I love divided opinions... we are all so different :)

I am 40+8 and getting very impatient to meet this baby!!! Can't wait to see what s/he looks like and chose a name!

I like both.

Are you planning more children?

I assume you wouldn't want two kids called Harriet and Henry, so maybe go for Megan, so that you can use Henry for a boy next time?

SoozyWoozy · 29/07/2012 17:49

mrsbugsy oh no, this is my last baby. Couldn't be pregnant ever, ever again!

I know the feeling Grin

In that case...use both?

Harriet Megan or Megan Harriet.

NoComet · 29/07/2012 18:41

French sitting, I think I prefer Harriet in full, but I hate girls with boys names as NN. Harriet is likely to become Harry.

Megan to Meg is much better.

I know two of each so not terribly common.

Dd2 who is 5 is Hattie alice (Alice after dh grandma) she and I love her name :0) dd1 very miffed as she is Ellie pippa (I wanted to call her pippa but changed mind at last minute wish I had kept to pippa )

eandh · 29/07/2012 18:47

Oh and she was meant to be Charlotte but night before I had her dh mentioned Harriet/Hattie she arrived and decided in seconds that she was a Hattie x

meala · 29/07/2012 18:49

Definitely Megan.
Harriet is very harsh sounding and the nickname Hattie is not pleasant either.

CecilyP · 29/07/2012 18:50

Prefer Harriet/Hattie. Megan is OK but am not really keen on it.

AndWhenYouGetThere · 29/07/2012 18:51

Harriet is lovely!
(with a little caveat that if you have a boy later, both Henry (hoover) and Harry (too close) are off the list!)

VolAuVent · 29/07/2012 19:10

There are no good nicknames for Harriet. Harry is a boys' name, and Hattie is faintly ridiculous like a person who wears several hats at once.

SoozyWoozy · 29/07/2012 19:25

I agree about the Hattie nickname! = girl wearing a lot of hats :o

Meg is easy to learn to spell, especially after teaching a Charlotte how to spell her name! M. e. g. Done.

Go for Meg GrinGrinGrinGrinGrinGrin

stookiesackhouse · 29/07/2012 19:53

I much, much prefer Meg. Cooler, cuter, nicer for an adult.

messagetoyourudy · 29/07/2012 20:12

I think Harriet is lovely as a stand alone name, not heard too often but still a proper name in it's own right, and also Hattie as a nn is a strong original name.

I don't agree that Hattie sounds like a girl wearing too many hats?

Megan is a bit too bleugh imo.

messagetoyourudy · 29/07/2012 20:14
