Hmm not massively keen on any of them - how is Edlyne pronounced - it looks like the kind of name that your DC would always have to spell and explain how to say - Victoria -not massively keen on as don't like nick names eg Vicky or Vic - but if you don't mind them then not a downside
But 1 Briony 2 Clara 3 Victoria 4 Edlyne

Victoria or Clara.
Beautiful names. :)

Ham69 · 21/07/2012 22:10

Clara - love it.
Victoria - Ok. Classic but not keen on nn's.
Briony - don't like Brian which is all I can hear in this name. Very unfeminine.
Edlyne - never heard of it, sorry. No idea what to think. Don't hate it.

MulberryMoon · 21/07/2012 22:11

Clara

mistressploppy · 21/07/2012 22:13

I like Briony pronounced Bree-ony, so:

  1. Briony
  2. Clara
  3. Victoria
  4. Edlyne
Stannwigg · 21/07/2012 22:30

Out of interest, how would you pronounce Clara? not that it might be my name or anything

RillaBlythe · 21/07/2012 22:36

Victoria is fab. Edlyne is awful. Briony & Clara are in between.

exoticfruits · 21/07/2012 22:45

Victoria
Clara
Briony

Edlyne-can't put it far down enough!

exoticfruits · 21/07/2012 22:45

There was supposed to be a bigger space-it is horrible.

discobeads · 21/07/2012 22:46

Is Edlyne pronounced like headline?

Annunziata · 21/07/2012 22:47

Clara or Briony.

Viviennemary · 21/07/2012 22:50

Clara
Victoria
Briony
Edlyne

PiranhaTank · 21/07/2012 22:50

Again, not keen on any of these names. Victoria is the only one I would even vaguely consider. Edlyne would be ,frankly, cruel.

MulberryMoon · 21/07/2012 22:51

I like 'eadline

cityangel · 21/07/2012 23:07

Eveline, Elin or Lena

1 - Clara is lovely :) I like 2 - Victoria but not the nicknames, 3 - Briony is okay. 4 - Edlyne not keen on, I googled but didn't come up with much; where's it from?

iheartmycat · 21/07/2012 23:39
  1. Clara - gorgeous, classy, uncommon but not weird or dated like Lily etc will be
  2. Briony
  3. Victoria
  4. Meddlin' Edlyne
LeB0F · 21/07/2012 23:44

I agree that Clara is classy and one of those holy grail names that is well-known and easily-spelled, without being over-used.

The rest leave me a bit cold.

Hope88 · 21/07/2012 23:51

Clara

shimmy0 · 22/07/2012 09:18

Briony isn't pronounced Breeony it's pronounced Bryony. Edlyne is Ed Lin but I suppose it could be spelt with double n to prevent headline jokes. We were really struggling with girls names and my other half came up with Briony and Victoria and I came up with the other 2. I've always loved the name Clara but Edlyne was a new discovery last night.

Clara
Victoria

Briony

Edlyne

NoComet · 22/07/2012 12:44

Briony (Bryony was in my list for DD2 and quite by coincidence has since been used by a friend for the cutest little DD you've ever met).

Clara is OK

Viki, Vicky, Vicks and Tory are truly vile NNs

And I cannot pronounce or spell your other choice.

shockers · 22/07/2012 12:59

Briony - I love it!

Clara

I have friends called Victoria who are never called by their full name.

What is the origin of Edlyne? Would you consider Evelyn as an alternative?
