It's on our shortlist but DH thinks it will become really popular because of twilight and as a twi-hater that has really put me off !!

Just wondering if it really is popular . I don't know any personally , but know of one born in 2010 .

One aged 11 for certain and there may be a younger one.
Two each younger Ben, William,Jack, Archie and Harry's of all ages.

Meant to add Jacobs lovely and both my DDs have pretty popular names as do DH and I.
It's not a great problem.

Littlecherublegs · 12/07/2012 12:18

Love the name - know 2 (one aged 4 and one aged 6 months).

Think it is quite popular and there is the Twilight link but neither of those would put me off!

My 3 year old is Jacob. Never even knew about twilight when he was born. Since he's been born though I've met 2 other 3 yr old Jacobs but they are very much south of england and 1 in our local shop last week who was about a year younger.

He gets called Jakey a lot (thank-god we don't live in Scotland) but has never been called Jake by anyone.

mumtoacub · 12/07/2012 21:17

My Jacob is 7 months old. We worried about the whole twilight thing to, but loved the name so went for it. I dont know any others and spoke to a nanny who used to work in a nursery who has never come across a jacob in her line or work. Im central belt scotland

ShowOfHands · 12/07/2012 21:24

My DS1's best mate is called Jacob. Adorable little boy. Love the name, it's popular but classy and won't go out of fashion.

thegreylady · 13/07/2012 16:26

WillowTheWitch · 13/07/2012 17:48

  1. Its pretty popular up with Oliver, Ben, Archie and Jack. Most families with boys have at least one of those names in them.

I know TONS of Jacobs. Well, 7 under five. To the point where if I tell DS1 we are off to Jacob's house, I then have to qualify it. East of England.

Pootle78 · 14/07/2012 04:17

I have a Jacob, he's 17 months and have since met one other aged 10.

I found out 3 days before having him that it was linked to Twilight and was a bit Hmm and was expecting nieces to be "ooh twilight" but never mentioned it, only 1 comment recieved and I just batted it back! Now as someone else has said, I know 5 Noah's that were all born last year, so you just don't know!!!

I've also had to reprimand my mother for calling him Jake on 2 occasions!!!

TouTou · 14/07/2012 04:37

Great name, very common (ie popular) where I lived before in england. I think I knew about 4 in one toddler group I went to!
