Do you know any Jacobs?

It's on our shortlist but DH thinks it will become really popular because of twilight and as a twi-hater that has really put me off !!

Just wondering if it really is popular . I don't know any personally , but know of one born in 2010 .

I know one who's 17 and one who's 2.

I have a two year-old one. Only come across one other who was about 18 months older than DS

There's lots round here. When DS starts school there will be 3 in his year. Still a lovely name though.

my 4yo is called Jacob. We chose it because I'd not come across anyone by that name, now I hear it everywhere.

My 15 year old is the only Jacob I know of :)

I'm a secondary teacher and Jacob is pretty popular although most shorten it to Jake.

Our Jacob is 2, only know another one aged 8.

Lovely name have had a few oh after Twilight, I just look bemused no after the old testament! Apparently it means supplanter, one who takes the place of another

My jacob is 12 weeks, OH picked his name and we totally didn't realise the twilight connection till it was too late he is known as jake (like one of the tweenies which is much cooler IMO!!) everyone will have forgotten about twilight before too long!

I know quite a few. It is the number one boys name over the last 10 years in America. There are a lot of them under 10 in the world as a whole. It's a good name.

Kidding - its a lovely name. Popular. There are a couple of under 5s that I know of.

LOADS in the 15 - 20 age group, but then a steady lower number from teens down. They are about in Nurseries, but not in massive numbers, IME.

One of my Great Nephews is called Jacob. It's a lovely name for a lovely, sociable 4yo. There are a couple of Jakes in DD2's year (age 13). It's a very nice name.

Three Jacobs and two Jakes in our reception class this year. Plus another one a couple of years older too. I also know two baby Jacobs (both under two years old).

Am in west of Scotland and I know 2. One is 5 and the other is 1 and a half.

Forgot to add that we are in the west of Scotland, don't want him known as Jake as up here Jakey is another term for homeless or alcoholic

I teach in a mixed secondary school and there are probably two in every year group, so one in 50 boys are called Jacob.
I love this name but I HATE the name Jake so I had to cross it off the list when I had DS :(
