Favourite celebrity child name

Whilst researching the name Mabel, I discovered that Bruce Willis' new daughter has just been named this. Which in turn led the article to describe the other kids names, Tallulah, Scout and Rumer... it got me thinking about celebrity baby names that you wouldn't necessarily name your child, but secretly or not so secretly like...

Personally, I love

Mabel and Scout
Harper (Beckham)
Ever (Jovovich)
Tigerlilly (Paula Yates and Michael Hutchence - strictly her name is Heavenly Hiraani Tiger Lily, but it's TL for short, apparently)

Don't think I can get on board with Satchel though - the name of Spike Lee's daughter :)

Any favourites, girls? (bored, so please indulge me)

Sunday Rose I always thought was pretty, in an odd way

Willow Sage Hart (Pink's daugter)

Lunarlyte · 05/06/2012 15:58

Yes, I'd forgotten Lila Grace - love that name, too.

Popoozle · 05/06/2012 23:23

I love Blue Ivy - but I would have chosen Ivy Blue myself.

I love Jamie Oliver's daughters' names - Poppy, Daisy & Petal. Not so much his son, Buddy. Reminds me too much of Will Ferrell in ELF.

Mabel - although I think it sounds cool, I wouldn't chose it myself I don't think.

I also like Jo Whiley's children's names - India, Jude, Cassius (not as much) and Coco.

I love Sarah Michelle Gellar/Freddie Prinz's daughter...Charlotte Grace. Just lovely and normal and simple. :)

One of the Hanson brothers (of MmmBop fame :o) has Ezra, Penelope, River, and Viggo, all of which I like.

CheerfulYank · 06/06/2012 09:38

Also Maya Rudolph has Jack, Pearl, and Lucille.
Tina Fey has Penelope and Alice.

smokeandglitter · 06/06/2012 12:47

Hadn't thought of Cassius, I like that! Reminds me of Creme de Cassis though haha. Love Penelope and Lucille, and River is soo cute!

Lunarlyte - I know, trust Kate Moss to have style! Wink Grin

Must just share my theory as to where Gwyneth and wotsit got Apple from; there's a book by Rumer Godden called Tottie the Story of a Dolls House and about a little family of dolls and the baby is called Apple. It was a kids TV programme in the 70s, made by Oliver Postgate and Peter Firmin I think.

I remember this programme and I love it! Did a little girl find the doll in a freezer in the supermarket or something?? And there was a a baddie doll too.

TheQueenOfSheba · 06/06/2012 13:00

No squoosh, actually they pinched the name Apple from the kid of someone in Chris' management office. They asked first, though.

TheQueenOfSheba · 06/06/2012 13:02

I can't stand Jamie & Jules Oliver's kids names. All of the names are fine on their own, but so blatantly copied from other celebrities. And it is like they said each time, "well, this is our shortlist, so we'll just use all of them". None of the names flow with the middle names.

squoosh · 06/06/2012 13:02

Oh I was quoting moonHare there. Have just had a quick youtube of that tv programme, it's still a bit spooky.

Gwynners and Chris are so boring they had to steal their 'wacky' name from some lesser being who was hardly going to say 'no'. Grin

Oh, and sorry to misquote you.

'Buddy' and 'Bear' are nice on their own, but a bit much together. Similarly 'Petal' 'Blossom' 'Rainbow'. Too, too much.

squoosh · 06/06/2012 16:27

Petal Blossom Rainbow??

Even the Care Bears rejected that one for being too sickly sweet.

belgo · 06/06/2012 16:33

Willow (Pink)
Violet and Seraphina (Jennifer Garner)

and of course Hazel and Phinneas from Julia Roberts.

Worst name has to be Maxwell Drew, Jessica Simpson, simply because it's a boy's name.

belgo · 06/06/2012 16:34

Ben Fogle's children have pretty nice names, Iona and Ludo.

ComradeJing · 07/06/2012 04:46

My DD is one of the (liked) names already mentioned. I love it.

Harper had been right at the top of our list for months. When Mrs B had her Harper about 6 odd months later I was sooooo pleased we hadn't gone for it.
