Favourite celebrity child name

Whilst researching the name Mabel, I discovered that Bruce Willis' new daughter has just been named this. Which in turn led the article to describe the other kids names, Tallulah, Scout and Rumer... it got me thinking about celebrity baby names that you wouldn't necessarily name your child, but secretly or not so secretly like...

Personally, I love

Mabel and Scout
Harper (Beckham)
Ever (Jovovich)
Tigerlilly (Paula Yates and Michael Hutchence - strictly her name is Heavenly Hiraani Tiger Lily, but it's TL for short, apparently)

Don't think I can get on board with Satchel though - the name of Spike Lee's daughter :)

Any favourites, girls? (bored, so please indulge me)

I like Seraphina, Maddox and Blue Ivy. The only one I would consider using is Seraphina but DP has vetoed it.

I don't like Shiloh or any of the Beckham kids names.

Got no DCs! Not a one!
Somehow all these names convey a certain impression to me. They all sound elegant, strong and brave.

missmiss · 26/05/2012 12:09

Pilot Inspektor

Audio Science

I mean, you just wouldn't, but they're damn cool.

juneau · 26/05/2012 17:20

Valentina (Salma Hayek)

Milo (Liv Tyler)
If I ever have another boy (I won't - I'm done!), I'd call him Milo

Carys and Dylan (CZJ and Michael Douglas)

TidyDancer · 26/05/2012 20:17

Harper's a funny one for me. I mean, I like the name, but I always expected something more girly from the Beckhams. And I get the impression they are 'try too hard' to be cool all the time, and naming a baby Harper totally fits that.

I quite like some of the Chili Peppers baby names. Everly Bear Kiedis (hated that at first), Sunny Bebop Balzary and Manon Smith.

Really don't like Mel B's baby names (Phoenix, Angel and Madison, they all just sound cheap and tacky).

Max and Emme are lovely.

MoonHare · 27/05/2012 00:07

Must just share my theory as to where Gwyneth and wotsit got Apple from; there's a book by Rumer Godden called Tottie the Story of a Dolls House and about a little family of dolls and the baby is called Apple. It was a kids TV programme in the 70s, made by Oliver Postgate and Peter Firmin I think.

I have no idea if this is really where they got the idea or if they've ever said where it came from.

It's such a great book and the programme was a wonderful adaptation, can thoroughly recommend.

TidyDancer · 27/05/2012 00:50

Moon, I think they said something about liking the name because it sounded clean and pure. I'm not sure where the original inspiration came from though.

I quite like it.

Paperclips · 31/05/2012 00:47

While I don't particularly like it as such, I think "Apple" gets slated too often. I've always rather liked the word, although celebs don't seem to realise that liking a word doesn't mean it's a good name! At least they didn't call her "Banana". There are far worse names like Rumor or "Princess Tiammiii" which is plain horrific. Poor child. .

I do rather like Nicole Kidman's "Sunday Rose"

SiioCal · 31/05/2012 12:13

I love willow and emme .

Owlshaped · 31/05/2012 15:34

I think its Bill from True Blood (can't remember his name) that has a little girl Lilac. I think the name is lovely and it LOOKS so pretty too.

Trying to force it on OH atm as an alternative to oh so popular Violet, but he's not budging.

Lunarlyte · 02/06/2012 12:22

Forgot to say that I love Madonna's pet name for Lourdes, which is Lola :) (also the name of one of Sara Cox's kids)

PineCones · 02/06/2012 12:50

Oh yes!! Sunday Rose.
There's a Mary Higgins Clark story called My Gal Sunday.

Journey · 04/06/2012 12:41

Sunday Rose sounds like Sunday Roast!
