I am pregnant with DC2.

I love the name Bruno. I love love love it, and I know that its a marmite name but there is no point in trying to convince me that it is anything other than marvellous.

DP said no :( and I have been sad about it ever since. However, he now says that if we can have Hercules as one of the middle names, we can have Bruno as first name. Now, I know that he may be trying to call my bluff (he insists he he being serious), but its growing on me.

Bruno Hercules?

I think it depends, are you in a girl band or is DH a Hollywood actor or a footballer? If yes, then you could probably get away with it. If the poor kid is going to end up at some run-of-the-mill primary in 5 years I'd go for something a little more mainstream maybe.

No one ever uses their middle name in RL. He will never be Bruno Hercules, but just Bruno. Which is a lovely name, in my opinion.

I think you ought to go with Bruno William Hercules or some other very popular, very safe, very sensible choice!

You don't say your middle name very often but interesting ones will surely raise eyebrows! I remember asking friends at school what their middle names were; if he's conscious, he can always just leave out the second one!

DS's first name is that of a ninja turtle. One of his middle names is an old family name and quite off the wall. We have Philip stuck between the two in order to dilute. I say do it.

I am normally the kind of person to steer towards more 'conventional' names, but surely if they are the kind of people to 'kick the shit out of someone' because of their name, they are not the sort of people whose opinions are worth living by??

I think Hercules is ridiculous but no one uses the middle name, so go for it, if that's the price for using the name you like.

They are both terrible names IMO.

I can't decide if they are as bad as or worse than Bronx Mowgli, but that's what the combination reminds me of.
