Do you hate your baby?

juneybean · 16/04/2012 12:19

I knew a Stevie but it was technically Stephanie.

Machasma · 16/04/2012 12:20

I like it Smile

GravyHadALumpyMashBaby · 16/04/2012 12:21

Quite cute as a shortened version of something else. Not as the actual name though.

MinnieBar · 16/04/2012 12:21

Weeeelll? put it this way, there's a prolific MNer with this name who is in the process of changing it to Evie. (Unless she's decided against as her mum got upset - not sure what happened next.)

It is a smidge outré tbh.

squoosh · 16/04/2012 12:22

Possibly ok if it was short for something. I would be very unfair to give your daughter a boys name as her only option.

GlaikitFizzog · 16/04/2012 12:24

Stevie nicks has done alright.

I know girl twins called billie and Stevie.

Could use something like evelyn ( Evie), but use stevie?

LoopyLoopsTootTootToots · 16/04/2012 12:28

So sorry to have offended, that was harsh of me, but Stranded has given you a good account of what it's like to have this kind of name. Unfair, IMO.

StrandedBear
Evie is a very nice name Smile

takeonboard · 16/04/2012 12:43

I love it. Stevie was our number 1 choice for a girl, but we didn't have one!

LoopyLoopsTootTootToots · 16/04/2012 12:48

Did you still use it for your little boy takeon? Wink

ScrambledSmegs · 16/04/2012 12:53

Aw, I think Stevie is a great name. Such a shame that some really stupid people think it's something to bully about Sad

If you really love it then maybe Stephanie? Use Stevie as a nickname?

LoopyLoopsTootTootToots · 16/04/2012 12:54

Stevie Nicks was Stephanie btw.

MagsAloof · 16/04/2012 13:07

I know a little baby Stevie. I think its sweet, although I would use it as a nn for Stephanie.

5madthings · 16/04/2012 13:08

i know a 27yr old called Stevie, she has always been fine with it, but as she is not a particularly nice person, i wouldnt use it as a name as it makes me think of her.

scottishmummy · 16/04/2012 13:20

not keen,bit rough imo
why stevie,is it homage to ancient rockers fleetwood farts

MarthasHarbour · 16/04/2012 13:24

I was about to come on and champion this name due to my love of Fleetwood Mac but stranded i see your point. I am liking your new name of Evie though Smile

I knew it was you Stranded but I didn't want to 'out' you!

Glad your mum is over it now Smile

misdee · 16/04/2012 13:27

One of my children is known as stevie.

But he is a boy called steven

GoGoBananas · 16/04/2012 13:28

I love it. The adult Stevie I know has never had a problem with it. In fact she is regularly complimented.
