I really don't think Stevie is going to take off that much that it is going to date... Hmm

For what it's worth I agree - I don't like names so popular that date, but I'm not quite sure what the 'dating' argument has to do with this name?

And... I still maintain that there are plenty of people out there, for whom Stevie is a unisex name, unlike Stephen, Steven and Steve.

Names change, move on, become more fluid. What was very much perceived one way a generation ago might not be now...

I would have thought that in today's climate Stevie isn't a particularly unusual name that would provoke the 'kick me' comment mentioned earlier.
My dc has what some consider a masculine name, although others would say it was gender neutral, no one at school ever batted an eyelid.

It's awful,but then I think it's a horrid name for a man too.
