Dreyken - means lord of dragons, from a Celtic children's story.
Ryu - Japanese so may be odd if you're not!
Ladon - dragon of Hera in Greek legend.

Or why not pick a fire name?
Mackay means son of fire.
Ayden is Celtic for little fire.

For a girl, Seraphine/Serefina is burning fire if you want an alternative to Kaida, but I love your choice! Edna/Ethne/Enya also mean fire in Celtic/Gaelic.

I'm due next month and we are thinking of going with Seraphina for a girl, because it comes from the Hebrew word seraphim - the highest angels of God who had six fiery wings. And dragons are fiery and have wings too! (In fact I gather there is even some bizarre ecclesiastical debate about whether the seraphim were angels at all, or actually some kind of serpents or dragons - perfect! Grin)

(I probably should add that there are other compelling reasons for us to consider this name, but we were secretly quite chuffed to discover the dragon connotations too!)

lol @ puff!

Ah, Ryu just has too much nostalgia for me (days spent playing street fighter)

Has to be drake or draco :P still cant decide!!

Cymur is apparently the name of the Welsh Dragon...?

nooka · 08/03/2012 05:51

If I was going to choose a 'little dragon' name I'd go for Idris, the Welsh heraldic dragon from Ivor the Engine.

I don't like Draco or Drake, but of the two I think that Drake is slightly better (makes me think of Drake from Drake and Josh, but he was a nice enough character and the series is long over).

puffy if it is japanese Kaida is pronounced Ka-e-da (2.5 syllables, i.e. short e sound) almost like al-qaeda.
But it is still a nice name.
