Have never heard of Kaida

Not keen on the boys names but if you like them, go for it

missnevermind · 05/03/2012 19:50

I am in love with Kaida already, this is the first time I have heard of it.

PufftyMagicDragon · 05/03/2012 19:52

I love kaida too! i adored it the moment i saw it :D as did DH.

Im thinking drake....mainly cos of the Harry potter links with draco (thanks JK for ruining that name forever for me)

Draco is great.

Francagoestohollywood · 05/03/2012 19:59

Draco of course.

roadlesstravelled · 05/03/2012 19:59

Kaida is lovely!

There is a popular rapper called Drake so people might think you're naming your son after him. This may depend on your area, circle of friends, etc though.

HolyNoSheDittantBatman · 05/03/2012 20:01

How do you pronounce Kaida? Kai-da? Like Al Qaeda?

HolyNoSheDittantBatman · 05/03/2012 20:02

Drake makes me think of a) Joey's character on DOOL and b) a duck

PufftyMagicDragon · 05/03/2012 20:03

lol @holy

Kai-da. its Japanese so it would be two syllables.

I think Draco, lovely though it sounds, was "pre-ruined" by the emperor. It does rather make me think along the lines of Nero, Caligula or Elagabalus.

Kayzr · 05/03/2012 20:05

I love Draco! It's a great name.

PufftyMagicDragon · 05/03/2012 20:06

I still worry about the harry potter links...although the popularity of potter has died down somewhat

Draig (pronounced dr-eye(as in optical)-g) is dragon in Welsh Grin.

PufftyMagicDragon · 05/03/2012 20:13

Oh man, That sounds so lovley!, but i know people would just read it and pronounce it like "craig"

DustyDen · 05/03/2012 20:37

Sorry, is that Kaida like 'kay-da' or like 'kye-da'?

I never know what pronunciation people mean when they put 'kai' or 'jai'...

PufftyMagicDragon · 05/03/2012 20:43

like "kye"

bluebump · 05/03/2012 20:44

I know someone with a Drake, it makes me think of Joey from Friends!

Cakestall · 05/03/2012 20:52

I think Kaida might make people think of AL Quaeda, because a lot of people pronounce it like that.

Draco is definitely out because of Harry Potter imho.

Drake isn't very nice imho.

EdithWeston · 05/03/2012 21:00

Dragan is a lovely Slav name.

soupandsnow · 05/03/2012 23:12

Kaida is really lovely.
Not too keen on drake/Draco... Too much like Dracula for me! How about Jake or Jacob... Which just sounds a bit different!

Zhx3 · 05/03/2012 23:27

Aww. I am a dragon too! In Chinese it's Xiaolong.

CaoNiMa · 06/03/2012 09:19

I was about to say Xiaolong!

Ephiny · 06/03/2012 11:01

I love Kaida, that's a beautiful name with a great meaning.

Not so keen on Drake/Draco though, I like the 'dragon' meaning but they're just not very nice names IMO.

BlueChampagne · 06/03/2012 12:48

Are there any dragon names in stories? I can only think of Smaug ...

Zhx3 · 06/03/2012 13:08

Zog :o.

CaoNiMa that's Mandarin right? Think it's the same as "diew lei lo mo" in Cantonese :o.
