I like really feminine frilly girls names, possibly french sounding like;

Vivienne
Evangeline
Genevieve

Possibly;
Angelina
Angeline

etc

Has to have three or even four syllables....Can anyone think of more names of this type...?

I think the baby might be blonde and I'm not sure Viviennes can be blonde!

I love Evangeline.

Brad and Angelina have a blonde Vivienne.

I always think the "virtue" names sound very feminine
Chastity
Verity
Clemency
Patience
Unity

I knew someone who was a Genevieve (which I love) and her sisters were Verity and Unity. I always wondered if she felt a bit left out...

Hullygully · 21/02/2012 19:52

Oh, I agree. I simply love them. My very bestest friend has the most beautiful wee girly called Florianella Hibiscus. She is an absolute poppet!

effingwotsits · 21/02/2012 19:53

Isadora is fantastic!

i wouldn't go for a 'virtue' name.If ever anything was tempting fate....

BeattieBow · 22/02/2012 12:28

I love Cecily and Clemency.

I also have Henrietta and Frederica and Theodora on my list. (I hope I get to use Cecily though!).

Dh does have other ideas though...

JiltedJohnsJulie · 22/02/2012 12:29

Please not Evangeline, it will be shortened to Evie and you can't move around here for tripping over at least 2.

scarletforya · 22/02/2012 12:52

I can't have Evangeline anyway as my sister says it's 'wacky' and DP thinks it's 'too holy' Hmm

scarletforya · 22/02/2012 12:54

Yeh, if she turns out like teenage me a virtue name will be totally unsuitable!

fedupofnamechanging · 22/02/2012 16:34

My dd is Evangeline. No one calls her Evie, because we don't and have asked her teacher to call her by her proper name. Other people will follow your lead. That said, I really do like Evie - there are worse nn!

I think Evangeline is a marmite name though. Most of my family love it or are too polite to say otherwise, but my nan thinks it's a bloody awful name.
