classic but not boring girls name

Hi all - our DD is due to arrive in 10 weeks time and we are struggling with names. We want a classic traditional name, but I am a bit fussy and so is DH... Our surname is 1 syllable beginning with B so I would like a name that shortens into 2 syllables. We have a DS Alexander James

Some names we like but aren't sold on any to give you an idea are:

Samantha
Phoebe
Sasha - but this is a nickname for Alexander so can't use
India - doesn't go with surname
Emily - bit too popular
Amelia - too many of them around
Charlotte - can't use
Emma - can't use

Can anyone provide any inspiration please?? We are at a loss (and I won't call her Chelsea which is DH's suggestion after his football team.... I thought he was joking although he does seem to be increasingly serious)....

I had twins the first time, and back in 1999 they didn't tell you what you were having, so I had to think of lots of names. Ended up with one of each, but decided on three names each (pain in the arse when it comes to form filling!). DD name is Elizabeth Georgia Victoria. She has always been the only Elizabeth in any of her previous schools, play groups etc. A gf from school was called Elizabeth and her surname was three letters long. Her two siblings also had long first names which worked well with their surname. Choosing the right names is hard.

We picked one of the names on your first list because I wanted to name DD after my Granny, who was terminally ill at the time of her birth.

I worried that it would be boring too but actually, she is the only person in the school with the name, unlike like all the more trendier names. So I stopped worrying about it!!

Rebekah, Madelaine, Hannah, Lydia, Esther, Eleanor, Deborah, Catherine, Isobel, Naomi...I know I am repeating some of the others' suggestions but there are some lovely ones on this thread.

I keep posting this name but I do love it;
