Calder for a boy?

I've heard of a few boys being named this lately, and I quite like it!

One of the reasons is that I really like Cade as a nn, but don't like Cadence or Caden at all.

Thoughts?

I absolutely love the name Calder! If you like it, who gives a sod what anyone else thinks... Everyone else here got to name their own children. Pick a name you love. How nice to not have another 20 of them in his class! X

Eleanora Josephine is beautiful, and I like Nathan/Nate too. Calder is to my ears really quite ugly. Where I live surnames (especially old fashioned craft based ones for some reason) as first names are very common (Cooper, Tanner etc) and I really struggle to understand why.

am I too late? I think Calder is lovely, really great... I am not English and I don't understand why it being a river in England makes it a bad choice

All the best Australian names are river names... Lachlan, Murray, err... there are others Blush
