Huge drama here today at Chez Jaffa, I had some bleeding this morning off to hospital to get checked out. All is well {phwee, already lost 2 babies not sure we could do it again} and they told us we're having a boy. Delighted...one of each Grin

Need suggestion's to go with DD Honor (who's 4 and has suggested Peppa, Princess Holly and Cheese Bob Hmm)

I'd like something that's not in the top 50 or at least top 10! We'd like something quite 'punchy' and strong but not over the top. We are quite 'well spoken' but not posh well we don't think so Wink I like Tristan, Charles, Kit (not Christopher) Lawrence or maybe Xavier. I'd love to be brave with the likes of Arlo, Jude or Avery (but DH won't have it)

So anything in the middle would be ace {wishful thinking}

TIA

Oooh I love the name Honor!

I like Lawrence best with Laurie for short (that's on my list too). I also really like Kit. You have great taste in names Smile

Otis - not sure that i'm brave enough.
Benedict
Wilbur more likely Wilfred or Wilf!
Tobias but would have Toby

jaffacakehips · 09/01/2012 09:33

Thank you for your suggestions...a number of names have (naturally) already been used by friends. Sebastian, Alfred (Alfie) Frederick (Freddie) Hugo.

The only names I don't really like are: Sid, Dexter, Miles, Harrison, Spencer, Miles or Dexter. No reason, they don't grab me..

Cheese Bob...aka Charles Robert BRILLIANT

Lockets..haven't you just listed your children?!?! Grin Love Johnny. Honor and Johnny, I think i'd have to have John. DH thinks John is a bit blaaa! Outstandings, what's my father call..John! Also I know friend want a son called Johnny, however they aren't even TTC yet.

Phineas

I like Oscar and Honor
And Benedict, Isaac.

tostaky · 10/01/2012 07:14

Lol... My DS suggested "cheddar" for DS3 (to be born soon)!!

What about
Attila
Atlas
Cosmo
Rubens
Lucas

kreechergotstuckupthechimney · 10/01/2012 07:24

Not forgetting the king of names.
Duncan.
Or Kit. Or Adrian. Not John, it really is a [meh] name. Apologies to the mother's of Johns.

jaffacakehips · 10/01/2012 13:14

croctch not keen on Phineas, isn't it short for Fin?
tostaky i like Cosmo, i suggest Cosima for DD2 but DH was a bit 'iffy' about it. Really Lucas and Ruben. Not keen on Atlas or Attila.

Kit is this a bit nn or does it not matter? I like 'full sunday school names' for the bc. However i'm not keen on Christopher or Christan yet i still LOVE Kit.

OP posts:
Hulababy · 10/01/2012 13:17

To me Kit sounds like a nn, in a boy probably for Christopher or similar. In a girl, for Christine/Kathleen, etc.

Likewise - you have said Jonny. To me again this is a nn for Jonathan.

FoxyRevenger · 10/01/2012 13:32

love Kit, but can't use it as I have a Kate, and that would be weird.

We've got Johnny on our shortlist. Would be Jonathan though, so Jonny, I guess.

Also think Tristan is cool, but DH did this Hmm x a million....
