Huge drama here today at Chez Jaffa, I had some bleeding this morning off to hospital to get checked out. All is well {phwee, already lost 2 babies not sure we could do it again} and they told us we're having a boy. Delighted...one of each Grin

Need suggestion's to go with DD Honor (who's 4 and has suggested Peppa, Princess Holly and Cheese Bob Hmm)

I'd like something that's not in the top 50 or at least top 10! We'd like something quite 'punchy' and strong but not over the top. We are quite 'well spoken' but not posh well we don't think so Wink I like Tristan, Charles, Kit (not Christopher) Lawrence or maybe Xavier. I'd love to be brave with the likes of Arlo, Jude or Avery (but DH won't have it)

So anything in the middle would be ace {wishful thinking}

TIA

Can you give us a clue what the surname is like?

TaraPalmerCocaCola · 10/01/2012 13:58

My ds2 is Jude Alexander.Love his name and it's the type of name that grows on me more and more everyday.I love it(well of course I doGrin)

Call him Jude!Suits a baby/boy/man/older man!
I actually considered Kit!But it was my guilty pleasure name as I could never shout 'Kit come back here' in the park/playground etc...I would feel Blush

jaffacakehips · 10/01/2012 14:34

Surname is long..not unlike Wellington but not with a 'W' {clear as mud} Grin

Tara Jude Alexander is a effing cool name. I don't think DH will let me have such a cool name. We're so not cool or hip. And Jude to me seems hip and cool.

Well my father is John so Johnny or Jono even. I do really like Tristan but not sure how it flows with Honor.

At this point it's called Cheese Bob...DD will be delighted!

Gosh what terrible English...for too many 'cool's' Blush

In that case I think Cheese Bob is perfect :o well, Charles Robert as suggested

It seems to me that your husband doesn't care for names that might be seen as 'faddy' or of the moment. So Charles should be fine as a timeless classic. And you like it! Or what about Hugh? Not the same as Hugo, so shouldn't clash with friends.

jaffacakehips · 10/01/2012 19:08

Jude Alexander got a mmmm from DH! We have a while to ponder!

Oh also love Odin

Chooster · 10/01/2012 22:50

I adore kit! Was on my list for ds3 but he's a Jude now... how about Evan?

Moodykat · 10/01/2012 22:58

I love Wilf! And Arthur, think they both sound nice with Honor, not that that really matters in the long run!

jaffacakehips · 11/01/2012 21:30

I do like Wilf but sadly it will just sound stupid with our surname. I do really love Arthur..but currently Kit is pipping it at the moment!

I do like Jude, DH isn't keen Sad

Alexander James?
Hardy?
Elliott?

I also love the name Kit for a boy.

ALovelyBunchOfCoconuts · 12/01/2012 16:24

I think Honor and Lawrence sound lovely together :)

And IMO, if you want to name your child that someones friends aunt has called their child then so be it. It is your child, name them what you like regardless. One of my friends named her cghild my choice of name 6 weeks before I had my DS I still named my son that. She was Angry but I don't care I might not know her in 5 years and our kids won't go to school together.

Wants3 · 12/01/2012 16:44

Jaffa you dislike 2 names so much you had to name them twice! :) one of them is on my list for DS3. I also love Kit.

jaffacakehips · 13/01/2012 10:11

I know wants i'm getting myself into a right royal pickle with this naming business.

Honor & Lawrence sound lovely.

Lawrence was on our boy's name list, along with Dominic, Barney/Barnaby, Fraser and Fergus.

jaffacakehips · 13/01/2012 17:45

Xavier, Lawrence are my current favs at the mo...that will no doubt change Blush Grin

Xavier Hugh
Xavier John
Xavier Charles
Lawrence Hugh - Not sure Hugh works with Lawrence.

Any througths?
tilly Love Fergus but DH has already said no. Fraser is a good name, adds to list. We are ready have a Dominic in the family as well as Barney..he's my father's dog!
