I quite like rupert.

We also have a Hugo... Didn't think the name was that popular..!

threecurrantbuns · 08/11/2011 18:05

I know littleone, I didn't think it was either think it will be quite popular in a few years by the sounds of it.

Still love it though although look at him and think he could have easily been a Rupert aswell but I hadn't thought of it at the time.

Would have been fab name for brothers Hugo and Rupert!

But on with the girls names we go :)

I love Rufus;

My DP and I discussed
Tarquin
Marcus
William
Charles
Rupert
Edward
Oscar
Oliver
Benjamin

I rather liked the idea of Tarquin Oscar Rupert as a name. I was refused.

ZOMBIE thread 🙂

MikeUniformMike · 17/01/2018 15:27

Rupert - the bear
Rafferty is awful. Nn will be Raff not Rafe.
Rufus and Edward both OK. Not sure if Ruf is a good nn though.
The name to avoid if you think your child won't be able to say his Rs is Wowy or Auwowa.
Hugo and Howard/Henry/Hugo - too much.

I like Edmund.

MikeUniformMike · 17/01/2018 15:28

his/her Rs

ChocolateCrunch · 17/01/2018 15:42

Rupert is a fab name, one of my favourites. I know one, aged 6, who has the nn Roo.

ChocolateCrunch · 17/01/2018 15:45

Just realised this is a zombie thread!!!!

I personally like Rupert, it's a good name with an aura of success about it, and it has a rich history to boot!
Hugo and Rupert are good together you may like Otto as well, they sound lovely together too.

Joeybee · 17/01/2018 22:54

LOVE Rafferty!!! It's so nice and strong and modern sounding, but is an old name. it's totally worth a comeback. I'd have this name on my list if it didn't clash with my surname.

Rupert and Rufus are a bit pompus sounding to me.

Edward is gorgeous, and Ed/Eddy is a nice nickname for it.

NotAgainYoda · 18/01/2018 06:04

What about Raphael?

I don't like Rafferty- too surnamey (and Jude Law and Sadie Frosty)
Rufus is OK
Edward is nice but safe
Rupert is a hit wet
