Possible names for DC2 if a boy...2 syllable surname.

Middle name is family name. :)

Ross Allan
Jacob Allan
Joseph Allan
Nicholas Allan
Elliot Allan (like Elliot and although these two a bit of a mouthful, they wouldn't get used all together much)

Would quite like a Scottish name, but struggling to pick ones I like that aren't someone I know or remind me of someone annoying!

All lovely - but Joseph Allan especially so. Sounds like a young man who will go far Smile.

snapcrunch · 15/10/2011 21:21

Damn, I wish I could convince DH on it! I always liked the name but couldn't convince him for DS. I think he thinks it's too biblical or something Hmm

thanks :)

Oops, forgot to say in OP suggestions for other things which might go well with Allan welcome. :)

Nicholas wins for me.

Allboxedin · 15/10/2011 21:47

I like all of them apart from Ross and Nicholas.

Fixture · 15/10/2011 22:14

I like all the first names except Ross. I think Elliot Allan has too much double L though. Nicholas Allan flows nicely.

GuillotinedMaryLacey · 15/10/2011 22:16

Love Ross.

Murray - love it but know one so can't really copy!
Angus - not so keen
Fergus - quite like but not sure
Duncan - like but know an extremely annoying Dunc.
Alexander - don't like.
Greg(or)(y) - annoying Gregor at school puts me off a bit!
Hamilton - too surnamey.
Kyle - not keen.
Niall - ditto
James - have seriously considered this one, just not sure...
Hamish - like but just not right.

ooh ooh

Scott? love it but know loads, including one at the bottom of my street.

thanks all and sorry for taking so long to reply. had to change name a bit but it's still me :)

shouldnotbehere · 13/11/2011 16:35

I like Ross from your original list but 2 x 2 syllable names seem to flow better, like Joseph Allan, so now I trying to work out why James Allan goes nicely!

DS is Alan Stuart if that helps!

pilates · 13/11/2011 21:23

Joseph Allan my fav

DigOfTheStump · 13/11/2011 22:07

Innes
Donald
Struan
Stuart
Finlay

SaffronCake · 13/11/2011 22:25

I shall be the odd one out and say that while too much of one letter is usually bad somehow Elliot Allan really does work.

Puts me in mind of those rare combinations like Clark Kent which break all the rules but somehow work beautifully.

GlaikitFizzog · 13/11/2011 22:28

Blair
Fraser
Fergus
Struan
Ruairidh
calum

StetsonsAreCool · 13/11/2011 22:29

I really want Rory Alan for my, as yet unconceived, potential future son. (Alan is my brother's name, and we have an Uncle Alan, I'd like to continue the tradition but Alan doesn't go with my married surname)

From your list I love Joseph and Elliot.

Mackrelmint · 14/11/2011 16:54

I too like Joseph and Elliot the best and think they both go nicely with Allan.

halecromp · 14/11/2011 17:17

I like them all except for Nicholas, Ross and Elliot are my favourites x

mathanxiety · 14/11/2011 20:47

Joseph, Nicholas and Elliott are very nice, not a bit crap.

JennyPiccolo · 14/11/2011 21:44

Douglas
Campbell
Leslie
Moray
Lewis
Coinneach (Kenneth)

CheerfulYank · 14/11/2011 22:29

Nicholas Allen is great! I also don't think Elliot Allen is too much of a mouthful :)

peanutmakinalistncheckinitwice · 15/11/2011 10:56

Elliot or Jacob are my fave Grin

snapcruncher · 15/11/2011 15:28
