what do you think to this name? it has really grown on me, i think it is classic and understated and quite elegant. also there don't seem to be too many baby Anna's about.
what do other people think? somebody mentioned they found it quite boring? does anyone think it is too popular now (i thought my other daughters name, Beatrice, was un-popular but there are three in her nursery class all born within 4 days of each other), and do you think it goes with Beatrice? thanks in advance.

I like it. Don't love it but it's a pretty, timeless name.

Think I only know one (aged 8) and I think she's an Anna Kyra.

I feel like I should know more but fairly sure I don't. It's high up on the lists though (number 63 for 2010 with 956 babies named it)

iskra No waaaaay Grin, am now slightly panicking incase you're dd1s old primary school teacher Grin

RollOnTheMum · 08/10/2011 20:45

Love the name Anna - my best friend is Anna. However, she was nicknamed Anal at school! lol :)

PommePoire · 08/10/2011 20:58

Anna is a lovely name with very positive associations, I think. If you look at famous Anna's: Anna Pavlova, Anna Ford, Dame Anna Neagle. The only remotely dodgy one I can think of is Anna Nicole Smith.

Anna Ruth
Anna Rose
Anna Lucy
Anna Lisa
Anna Louise
Anna Jane
Anna Juliet
Anna Josephine
Anna Madeleine
Anna Maria
Anna Clare

PommePoire · 08/10/2011 20:59

famous Annas not Anna's

fannybanjo · 08/10/2011 21:02

Love it. My favourite name but it just didn't go with our surname.

susiey · 08/10/2011 21:02

I love it I have an Annalise Claire who is often Anna!
easy to spell at school as well!

WhaohThere · 09/10/2011 16:29

Anna Marie, of course!

kellestar · 09/10/2011 16:43

I love Anna, wanted to name DD that but DH wasn't as keen, we both agreed on Beatrice Annabelle in the end. My friends little one is Annabelle and it's lovely and cute.

teobaldo · 29/11/2011 22:13

well you might have decided by now... but I have a 9 months old Anna and her middle name is Vittoria. I love the name and we gets lots of compliments, also because she is very cute (people say she is very cute) but my son chose it, initially we wanted something different, even if present in my family. I think it is having a come back now, though as there are more than I did expect

Papyrus · 30/11/2011 00:21

Lovely name Grin!

My 3 year old DD2 is Anna Clemency Violet, known as Annie.

EthelredOnAGoodDay · 18/12/2011 19:17

My 2 year old DD is Anna Elizabeth bluebell. Great choice and not too many of them about (fingers crossed..) Wink

Oubliette0292 · 18/12/2011 19:22

I know one - I think she is Anna Evelyn.

NoPinkPlease · 18/12/2011 19:26

Weird, I'm Anna Clare too!!!!

broccolitrees · 20/12/2011 14:54

i think anna is lovely. it is understated but very elegant

3isamagicnumber · 20/12/2011 17:50

I think its lovely and not too popular either. I only know one who is 2 years old.

oikopolis · 20/12/2011 18:47

So elegant.

Letchlady · 20/12/2011 19:46

Love it. Great name.

Artichohohohokes · 21/12/2011 13:42

I love it BUT it is the only repeated name on DD's class of thirty. There are two Annas and yet only one Isobel, Ella etc. It was also repeated in DD's baby music club. So in my area it is quite popular (which is fine, but just something to be aware of).

ThatllDoPig · 21/12/2011 13:45

Gorgeous. Surprisingly unusual for such a beautiful classic name. I have a niece Anna. It will suit her at any age.

3boysgirlontheway · 21/12/2011 13:48

I know a 3 year old Anna, she makes me love the name even more she is the sweetest child.

myalias · 21/12/2011 13:51

A beautiful classy name - I have two friends one is Anne and the other Anna. I don't like Annie - I have a problem with a name ending with the sound ie,ee and ey.

Charliewasagoodhamster · 21/12/2011 19:26

I love the name Anna. I wish I could use it but it would make a word with my surname and sound silly. Beautiful, classic and elegant name.

humblehippo · 21/12/2011 20:11

Anna is a great name - really nice, simple classic. It's my sister's name and I would like to see it on a little one (I don't know any little Annas that I can think of)

Jojay · 21/12/2011 20:27

Love it. I have a beautiful God daughter called Anna Grace, otherwise DD may well have been Anna.
