A lovely friend of mine just announced their babies birth on Facebook last night. I instantly spotted that it will have the initials TB and almost quipped back a joke about how she's a doctor and how amusing it was to have medical initials... But then I wondered if they didnt' realise... Can they not have done the intials test...?

Would you say something...?

Presumiably they love the name and wouldn't change it even if they hadn't realised...

no don't say anything!

it really doesn't matter does it?!

ProfYaffle · 03/10/2011 14:43

My initials are TB, I think maybe 3 times in my life someone has commented on it. You really don't need to worry about it!

Hulababy · 03/10/2011 14:45

I don't think I'd comment tbh. TB are not particularly bad initials imo.

pictish · 03/10/2011 14:46

No I wouldn't say anything.

giyadas · 03/10/2011 14:47

I wouldn't say anything. it's not as if it's something like Celia Ursula Naimh Taylor. TB as initials wouldn't bother me.

cjbartlett · 03/10/2011 14:47

did you really think it was amusing?!! maybe you need to get out more Wink

scaevola · 03/10/2011 14:49

Which is worse - tuberculosis or Tony Blair? There's only one way to find out...

Lots of initials have attached meanings, or will acquire them. These ones aren't that bad (and one is transitory). I wouldn't say anything.

comedaygoday · 03/10/2011 14:59

It does not matter , no one will care, don't say anything.

oohlaalaa · 03/10/2011 15:31

Presumably there is a middle name. I would not say anything.

pilates · 03/10/2011 15:35

No I wouldn't burst their bubble.

AlmaMartyr · 03/10/2011 15:36

Those initials don't seem like a huge problem really, I wouldn't say anything.

minipie · 03/10/2011 16:27

I think this is a sign that you have spent too long on the Baby Names topic Grin

CandiceMariePratt · 03/10/2011 16:45

My dds initials are TB. I think it's fine

Sandalwood · 03/10/2011 17:20

I would expect that they do realise but decided it doesn't matter a jot.
It's hardly going to make the DC a laughing stock.

WorzselMummage · 03/10/2011 17:21
Confused
bruffin · 03/10/2011 17:35

TB to me means trial balance
You can tell I work in accounts

wilkos · 03/10/2011 17:38

ds's initials are TB. the only person who ever commented (and fell about laughing) on it was a complete twat who thankfully we no longer have to see very often

HoHoLaughingMonster · 03/10/2011 17:44

Of course you shouldn't say anything.

Can't believe you even considered it TBH

Tuschinski · 03/10/2011 18:19

Not something I'd notice, only realized Tony Blair had those initials now.

PetiteRaleuse · 03/10/2011 18:26

Wow, talk about over-thinking stuff.

QuinnFabray · 03/10/2011 18:31

Eh?! My 11 year old's initials are TB, and no one has ever commented on it. My Grandmother died of TB too. . . but it didn't even cross my mind to make the connection, until I read this thread!

QuinnFabray · 03/10/2011 18:33

Now, if circumstances had been different, bearing in mind we named him after various Grandparents, his inititials might have been TWAT. Now we did comment and laugh about that . . .

beararse · 03/10/2011 18:36
Hmm
KittyWalker · 03/10/2011 18:39

I also wouldn't say anything and I too have only just realised Tony Blair has these initials.

Bollocks2u · 03/10/2011 18:44

DD2 is WC, with middle initials. We liked the name. Nobody has ever said anything to my face Grin
