Here I am again trying out different boys names for size. I've chosen my girls name and love it but boys names are so hard, just cant find one I love so here are some I really like. What do you think?

Oren/Orin
Jared
Gabriel (already have a Gabriella in family)
Theo
Griffin
Joel
Connor

Oren is hubbys fave. DD is Lyra.

PLEASE HELP I THINK THIS IS GOING TO TIP ME OVER THE PREGNANCY EDGE

Any suggestions gratefully received too

I like Oren and Joel

How about Keir, Ethan or Milo

lchodge · 18/09/2011 22:39

Joel or Theo. Both strong and masculine, nice.

DigOfTheStump · 18/09/2011 22:48

Griffin from your choices, it is out there but not too far out there

LyraBelaqua · 18/09/2011 23:03

Can I just add Corben to the list :)

Oren is lovely - simple, masculine and easy to spell/pronounce. Not that common - great choice!

I really dislike Jared and Theo, sorry.

whizzyrocket · 19/09/2011 11:28

Joel or Theo.

Is not having a name that's commonly used important to you though? Theo is definitely on the rise. Not many Joels though.

Bellie · 19/09/2011 11:31

I have an Orin. Love it!

We had exactly the same problem with boys names too - we only decided 2 days before he was born and he is definately an Orin - Ori for short!

LyraBelaqua · 19/09/2011 14:44

Yes I would like a name that is not too popular dont want DD to feel she was the only one saddled with a 'unusual' one.

I have a Theo and people often comment on what a lovely name it is. Not too many around - he is Theodore though so that he could also be Ted/Teddy.

Nevercan · 19/09/2011 14:55

Love Joel Smile

mathanxiety · 19/09/2011 15:45

I like Theo and Gabriel from your list. The others not much at all.

allieballiebee · 19/09/2011 15:53

Love Gabriel, like Joel & Theo

minipie · 19/09/2011 18:25

Griffin is great.

Corben also great (though I think I'd spell it Corbin). Suggest also Corin?

Joel is good.

Gabriel is good.

Theo is good, but popular.

Oren sounds unfinished, like it should have another letter at the start.

Not keen on Jared or Connor.

findmeintheflowerbed · 19/09/2011 18:29

My fave of yours is Oren. Never heard it before and really like it.
I also like Joel and Gabriel.
Btw I love the name Lyra that you gave your DD. Love it.

tammytoby · 19/09/2011 21:38

I like Corben and Oren - strong sounding and underused.

Theo - very widely used already (isn't there a footballer called this?)

Meteorite · 19/09/2011 21:42

Gabriel or Theo for me, then Joel.

Oren/Orin - too strange
Jared - OK
Gabriel - like, and different enough from Gabriella
Theo - like as nickname for Theodore
Griffin - ugly creature
Joel - OK
Connor - too surnamey

LetThereBeRock · 19/09/2011 21:52

I love Gabriel,Theo,Joel and Connor. I don't like the others.

tammytoby · 19/09/2011 21:54

But Oren/Orin would lose its strangeness as soon as it was used by a cute little boy Smile.

wigglesrock · 19/09/2011 22:35

I know where I live Orin (Odhran) is gaining in popularity (N Ireland) Dd2 has just started nursery school and there are 3 in her intake. I really like Gabriel. I was crap with boys names thankfully I have 3dds Grin

StuntCubble · 19/09/2011 22:38

I like Oren And Gabriel. What about Soren? I love it

Kellywestie · 19/09/2011 23:06

Hi, like Oren and someone else's suggestion, Soren. Difficult not knowing your surname but a friend has a son called Karter which I love and our DS is called Sven - lots of people comment on what a cool name it is. Good luck with choosing.

ViviPru · 19/09/2011 23:49

Another vote for Soren.

Gabriel is lovely, and I like Orin - have never heard that name before (is it pr. Orr-in, or Ore-in though?).
