Help me chose a between baby names please :)

Hey, a little about me, I'm 21 years old, engaged to my lovely 30 year old fiancé, we have our first baby due on 18th October 2011.
We decided to keep the sex of the baby a surprise, being my first child :)

So, the names are....

Boys
Zack Thomas Halliwell
Alfie James Halliwell
Ethan Jack Halliwell

Girls
Summer Lily-Rose Halliwell
Maisy May Halliwell
Ava Rose Halliwell

All the girls names are pretty dire tbh.

personally i don't think i would pick any of them TBH but if i had to i would go for Ava rose and Ethan.

Congratulations on the baby, I'd choose Ethan or Ava from your list. I would avoid the hyphenated middle name Lily-Rose and just have two middle names if you wanted to go with that one. Maisy May sounds a little bit like a nursery rhyme, a bit cute for an adult.

Good luck on meeting new mums, have you seen that there is a local section on MN (I'm not in Wigan).

Please not another Alfie.

I like both Zack (though prefer Zachary shortened to Zac) and Ethan, but really do not like Alfie, sorry.

Summer is pretty, don't like Maisy/Maisie, but think Ava is the best of the three by quite a long way.

Ethan and Ava, I'm not a fan of middle names.

Summer Lily-Rose and Maisy May are waaay too cutesy. Ava Rose is the best. I like Summer as a first name but think you need a non-nature name with it.

Personally I really dislike your name choices (especially Alfie and Zack as well as Maisy and Ava) but we thankfully have different tastes and you might not like my choices either. But that's ok and makes the world much more interesting .

I like all your boys names..for the girls not really keen on Summer or Maisy (nothing wrong with them, just not my taste) Ava is very pretty.

This might not be an issues for you..but you have given away quite a lot of personal info on this thread...name, location and baby surname etc etc...just be careful you don't want to be could 'outed' on future post.... Just thought I'd mention that.

On your boys names I like Zack the best - but I too would put Zachary on the birth certificate and then shorten it to Zac/Zack. (Zachary was our first choice boys name but we are expecting a girl!)

With the girls names, I quite like Maisy May but I think I might be in the minority as most people don't seem to like alliteration. And I think Summer sounds nice with Rose (ie without the Lily, as with a hyphenated middle name it becomes a bit fussy).

Congratulations of your pregnancy. I don't like any of your boys names, especially Zack (sounds harsh and unfinished to me). Of your girls suggestions I quite like Summer, but find Maisy too cutesy and Ava a little overused.

But as others have said, you will never find a name that everyone loves - and it would indeed be dull if we all chose the same names .

Ethan and Ava. I do know a lot of little girls called Ava, though. I think Summer is quite a nice name, but it seems to pop up loads in soaps which has always put me off a bit.

Hi - Congratulations. From your list I would go for Ava Rose (although personally I would have a different mn) for a girl. Not overly keen on the boys names but would go for Zachary nn Zack out of the three. Prefer Thomas and James tbh. Also echo scarlettlips comments about giving away too much information.

Alfie is extremely popular. Most the rest of your choices are much more unique. I am not a fan of hypenated names, so vote against Lily-Rose (both fine on their own). All rest are ok are better imho.

I like Zac, I don't like Alfie at all, what about using one of your middle names as a first name for a boy. I'm not a fan of any of the girl middle names but Summer is my guilty name pleasure

Another vote for Ethan and Ava. I really like Ethan actually, don't think I've ever met one.

you will probably find that a lot of people on here, being name nerds are a bit disparaging of very popular names, and all the ones you have listed are quite popular/of the moment, so if that bothers you I would think again. It is likely that with any of these names your child will have quite a few other children of the same age with the same name.

Boys: I really don't like Alfie, it is very overused and a bit too cutesy for my taste. Ethan is ok, again very popular currently though don't personally know any! I like Zack best, and would also give a full name, Zachary or Isaac. All your boys midde names are nice.

Girls: Not a fan of Summer, and I think some people may view it as a bit downmarket, particularly with the soap link. Ava is lovely but very very popular if that bothers you - I would not pair it with Rose which, although pretty is the second most popular middle name after Grace I think. What about Rose as a first name? - very classy and less used. Maisie has rocketed up the name charts in the past year, no idea why. Not a fan personally and definitely would not pair it with May as way too cutesy (you are naming an adult not just a baby).
