Girls names that aren't too girly.

Like Hester or Harriet or something? Possibly things that don't end 'a' or 'bel', but not too hairy-legged hockey player?!

Try names ending in consonants, they dont sound too girly.

I used to love Ruth but there is a not great one in the family...

Dd is called Elsa. Is Elsa and Hester too much ssssss?

Elsa and Harriet better than Elsa and Hester I think - though Hester is so lovely that it might be worth it anyway!

I was going to suggest Harriet (DD1) but see everyone's beaten me to it.

How about Alice, Phoebe, Miriam, Kate, Hannah, Imogen, Mary, Charlotte?

How popular is Harriet these days?

I am desperate to have Josephine as the middle name (my mum's name) irrespective of how crazy it ends up sounding!!

Well, DH now says that he 'loathes' Harriet because of Harriet Harman, so that's that out of the window...
