Dh loves it, and I don't know what I think. Tbh all I can think of is Ronnie Corbett......

Why can't he like any of my lovely names?? I adore Arlo, Dillon and Max. I posted last week about his first suggestion being Rio

We're def having a boy btw. We have to find out as it takes us so long to choose a name!

Love Ronnie.

Ronnie Corbett is a sweetie anyway... :)

Hellishday · 09/08/2011 13:52

I think of Ronnie Kray.
I know a Ronnie and he isn't nice.

TheOriginalNutcracker · 09/08/2011 13:53

A mum at school recently called her dd3 Ronnie Hmm

I'm not keen on it for either sex tbh

MelinaM · 09/08/2011 13:54

Ronnie Wood for meGrin ...and of course Kray!

I quite like itSmile

harassedandherbug · 09/08/2011 13:55

That's how I feel about Mason Hellish, he's the naughty one in dd's class! And I'd forgotten about the Krays..... dh will want Reggie as a middle name next.

Gwendoline there was an interview with RC in the Sunday mag and he looked like a gnome Hmm.

I remain totally unconvinced!

Don't like Ronald or Ronnie, sorry.

LynetteScavo · 09/08/2011 14:01

Hmmm....I think your DH has bad taste in names.

Say no more about it until your DS is born, then straight after his birth announce very firmly "His name is Arlo". (Arlo is such a brilliant name....Dillon and Max are nice, but very popular around here atm)

notso · 09/08/2011 14:02

What about Ronnie Barker though, he was lovely and very funny.

I know a five year old Ronnie (Ronald on BC), he was named after his Grandpa.

overthemill · 09/08/2011 14:04

craig twins, barker, corbett, biggs - hmm - not my idea of a good name sorry

notso · 09/08/2011 14:04

PS Max is great, hate Arlo and Dillon.

overthemill · 09/08/2011 14:04

omg, KRAY twins...

InstantAtom · 09/08/2011 16:45

It's a bit of a comic name. Ronnie Corbett/Barker, Ronald McDonald.

mathanxiety · 09/08/2011 17:13

I think it's cool. I know a truly fab Ron.

Far nicer than Archie, Alfie, etc.

I like it for a boy or girl (thinking of Ronnie [nee Veronica] Spector), but I would use Ronald in the BC for a boy.

lostlady · 09/08/2011 17:16

Do you know, when I read that, I thought great name? Surprised self, but really like it. SorrySmile

greycircles · 09/08/2011 17:17

Ronnie Kray.

I do know a primary school age Ronnie and he is a bully.

LaWeasel · 09/08/2011 17:20

I tend to think of it as a nn for Veronica. But Ronald is a bit gah, and I don't know if I like Ronnie just on it's own for a boy.

Very hard when you have different taste to your partner!

pointydog · 09/08/2011 17:41

SHort for Ronald or just Ronnie?

I really like it now. I didn't used to. Lots of older blokes called Ronnie in Scotland. I know a couple of good 'uns.

JanMorrow · 10/08/2011 13:11

Kray!

superjobee · 10/08/2011 13:19

i know a ronnie and he's fantastic, theres a ronnie in DDs class and he's a wee cracker only thing i can say is from the 2 i know they are very opinionated!

pranma · 10/08/2011 13:21

Max is lovely and I prefer Rio to Ronnie
I like Dillon too

LetThereBeRock · 10/08/2011 13:38

A definite no. It's a horrid name.

peeriebear · 10/08/2011 13:42

My friend has just called her DD Ronnie :) And my grandad is called Ron so I have nothing against it.
