Cody for a girl....?

Does Cody work as a girls name? No matter how many times I say/write it I cant decide. Also like Cady but think it might sound like we're saying Katie which I really don't like?!

I would assume it was a boy's name tbh.

Not keen on it for either if I am honest. Don't like Cady either, sorry.

stardustn · 26/07/2011 22:20

I know of a girl called Codie :) Personally I see it as a unisex name

Littlefish · 26/07/2011 22:34

No.

superjobee · 26/07/2011 22:49

PersonalClown · 26/07/2011 22:51

My cousin is a Codie. Sounds fine for her!

Tortington · 26/07/2011 22:51

sounds like a made up american bollocks name

fishandlilacs · 26/07/2011 22:53

I think it's lovely.

lchodge · 26/07/2011 22:57

Any need to swear? No didn't think so.

I prefer Cody to Cady now :)

think its bad for male or female.cady reminds me of tea caddy tbh.

grubbalo · 26/07/2011 23:14

I would always think of it as a girls name due to Cody from Neighbours (showing my age there)!!

lchodge · 26/07/2011 23:17

My partner said he thinks he used to fancy a girl called Cody in Neighbours! I can't remember her though lol

Teachermumof3 · 26/07/2011 23:28

I would only think of it as a boys' name; there are currently 3 in Year 2 at my school.

lchodge · 26/07/2011 23:33

Teacher are you from England? I'm in Scotland and popularity of names varies massively between the two. It also varies alot by region but I'm not swayed by popularity as long as me and my partner can agree on something I'll be happy.

There was a Cody in Neighbours many years ago...she shagged Todd

SiamoFottuti · 26/07/2011 23:42

Terrible name, be they boy, girl or small pet.

mathanxiety · 26/07/2011 23:44

Irish surname.

lchodge · 26/07/2011 23:45

Disagree! I really like it. Certainly isn't a pet name though. I remember her from neighbours now :)

Katie is too plain and is a nn. Don't like nn's. Cody is not made up. Cady might be but then all names were made up somewhere!Went off Cady anyway.

LucyLastik · 26/07/2011 23:59

Wasn't she Cody Willis? Brad and Gabby's red haired sister? Blush

Valpollicella · 26/07/2011 23:59

That's the one Lucy...

FairyArmadillo · 27/07/2011 00:05

I love this name for a girl but I gave it away to a pet many years ago.

Rhubarbgarden · 27/07/2011 09:01

Not a nice name.
