In no particular order,

Sensible names:

Edmund
Douglas
Patrick
Adam

Wildcards:

Gene
Jasper
Wulfric
Raedwald

Please give opinions and top 3 if you can.

(I am a namechanger as this list makes me far too indentifiable)

Oh Dear - namechanger ?? Bless you!

I'm really not liking Edmund, Douglas or Adam - i'm not sure why, they are just a little 'dull' perhaps - (i am very sure i will be corrected!)

My Ginger Tom is a Jasper (as DH wold never of allowed that one Shock

Not sure on Wulfric or Raedwald (or how you'd pronounce it Hmm - perhaps i don't get out as much as i thought

Gene i adore on the other hand, i also love Jude (although i know it's not on your list Wink

So i can only have a top 2

Gene or Jasper

TimeWasting · 21/07/2011 22:42

Edmund and Douglas are pretty out there! Grin

I love Patrick and Adam, not so keen on the others.

Although Douglas Wulfric has a ring to it.

slartybartfast · 21/07/2011 22:42

gene is unusual and a possilbity

patrick is ok

adam is perfectly ok

mich54321 · 21/07/2011 22:50

Adam - favourite - excellent name and good for both child and adult
Patrick - next favourite - but not as keen on nn Pat / Paddy
Edmund - ok - prefer Edward but plenty of nn

Not that keen on the others TBH

minipie · 21/07/2011 22:51

Douglas is great
Adam is nice, and underused
Patrick is nice (paddy is a great nn)
Edmund is ok

Wulfric and Raedwald are fab but as an embarrassing middle name only
Not terribly keen on Gene or Jasper

Nightstar · 21/07/2011 22:59

Edmund is nicest

But I gotta admit, I'm quite taken by Wulfric!

Nightstar · 21/07/2011 22:59

Too many Douglas jokes, no good Patrick nicknames

emmyloo2 · 22/07/2011 07:29

Adam, Jasper or Patrick.

They are the ones I like the best. I think Jasper would definitely be my favourite but Adam and Patrick are both lovely, underused names.

OiMissus · 22/07/2011 07:40

I really like Jasper, second Edmund, and then maybe Gene - but I'm having difficulty putting Gene with a baby (dunno why!).

The last two are a bit german heavy metal (??!!) - i don't know why I think that, but that's what pops into my head. What's that band called... "Rammstein" or something.

I've been really struggling over boys names. Yesterday I thought of Leon. Like a little lion cub, and then, when he's older, the sexy, cool french assassin. DH wasn't too keen, but didn't dismiss it completely...

CandiceMariePratt · 22/07/2011 07:42

Gene is the best

scarlettsmummy2 · 22/07/2011 07:52

I like Adam, Patrick and Jasper, really do not like the others- especially Edmund, to me it is up there with Norris.

I'm more trad about names so only really like Gene from that end of the list. Of the trad ones, Patrick and Adam would be my favourites.

Edmund is lovely, as is Adam ..if a tad dull.

Jasper is an awful name, I know of an awful lot of the feline variety!

Douglas, Patrick and Gene are not names I'd saddle a child with I'm afraid.

As for Wulfric and Raedwald, no, just NO!!!

Hedwig3 · 22/07/2011 12:12

Gene - fabulous Smile

Patrick
Adam
Douglas

Edmund - Bleurgh! Now being used by people who feel Edward is too popular.

ShoutyHamster · 22/07/2011 13:30

Adam or Jasper.

Gene and Patrick I just particularly dislike - just horrid sounds.

The others are very bad and you would be the cause of much wailing and gnashing of teeth! Grin

technotronic · 22/07/2011 16:36

I think this might be the widest range of reactions I have ever seen on a baby names thread - am even more confused now!

I'm pretty sure I used to have to top up my dodgy car radiator with Raedwald back in the halcyon days of the Renault 5...Wink

Sensible names:

my twattish ex is an Adam, so i now hate the name (makes it hard at church when we sing about the Real Adam, thouhg.... Shock )

I like Edmund and Patrick.
I love Raedwald! that's brilliant - a proper old fashioned english names (have an obsession with them myself but DH vetoed me. :( )

NotJustKangaskhan · 22/07/2011 16:54

Ulric is the modern form of Wulfric.

My top three of yours would be Ulric, Douglas, and...either Patrick or Jasper. I couldn't decide between though though I prefer Jesper to Jasper though.

Happymum22 · 22/07/2011 17:46
