As the title says really!

We would use Eve on bc but call them Evie and Bath would be just Beth on bc NOT Elizabeth or Bethany.

Anna is the nicest by far!!!!!
Annie for a nn.

Other names feel men to me.

Also eve and all its variations will be a bit like the Sarah's of the late 70s and 80s. If you don't mind that go for it.

I have Esther, Eve and Bethany on my shortlist! We must have similar taste. I really dislike Beth on its own though... Just my personal taste!

jellybeans · 30/06/2014 13:01

Esther

CPtart · 30/06/2014 13:03

Esther and Anna both lovely names.
Not keen on Beth.

APotNoodleandaTommy · 30/06/2014 13:17

Beth does not need to be short for something.
Beth is also not a 'wet' name
this Beth is very feisty and wants to bop you on the nose for saying something so fatuous

BeckaH123 · 30/06/2014 15:26

Beth does not need to be short for something.

No it doesn't need to be, some people might just happen to prefer it when it is. Just down to personal taste really.

CruCru · 30/06/2014 15:47

I like Esther best. I like Eve but I know so many Evies. Beth is nice but I still prefer Esther.

jessiemummy28 · 30/06/2014 16:24

Love Esther Smile

Coral2094 · 30/06/2014 17:41

Esther
Faye
Anna

All go nicely with Holly, and all are gorgeous!

KERALA1 · 30/06/2014 22:40

Eve is this generations sarah. One third of the girls in dds class are named a variant of eve.

Vijac · 30/06/2014 22:47

Eve. Second Ester without the h.

rockybalboa · 30/06/2014 22:56

Esther!

DeathMetalMum · 01/07/2014 20:10

Dd has a friend called Esther qiite unusual but lovely. It's often shortened to Est or Este which is really nice.

KERALA1 · 01/07/2014 21:03

Good move binning eve that name is officially full. Like all yours agree Beth a tiny bit wet ie Beth from little women. Other names good imo

There is also an alternative from of Esther = Hester

As others have said, Esther without the 'h' is a chemical. Also pronounced quite differently: Esth-her or Est-uh

florascotia · 01/07/2014 21:24

Also, Esther has nothing to do with evil sisters or fairy tales, but, in Jewish tradition, was a brave queen who stood up for her persecuted people. Like many other ancient heroines, she was far from perfect, but her memory is still honoured today.

My 7 year old is Eve and the only 'Eve' I know so don't think it's that popular. Still love the name :)

jaidie1988 · 03/07/2014 01:52

Also my nana is Esther, you have great name choices Grin

TheBookofRuth · 03/07/2014 05:13

Don't know about Eve being this generation's Sarah - while Evie, Eva and Evelyn are all in 2012's top 100, Eve isn't.

KERALA1 · 03/07/2014 11:53

One third of the girls in dds class are named a variant of eve. Crazily popular one to avoid if that bothers you it would bother me.

Gingerjv · 03/07/2014 15:21

I would choose Eve/Evie/Eva for sure!! i just adore these names! But i also like Bethany, not Beth, but exactly Bethany)

rattyboombatty · 04/07/2014 21:08

I have a 2yr old and 6 month old, so spend more of my life than I care to admit to at baby toddler groups.

Beth is a lovely name, was on my shortlist for 6 month old. There is at least one Beth at most groups, which I found surprising. Eve is one of my all-time faves, but as other posters have observed, is massively popular in variations.

I only know one Esther, who is 2 and completely charming which makes me love it. I haven't met any little Annas or Fayes. I'm London based, so this may not be a true reflection for where you live.

Hellojello · 05/07/2014 19:38

Bess is nice.

There's also Martha
