Bonkers name?

I like very unusual names and am considering calling my soon to be born son Atticus - after the noble lawyer character in To Kill A Mockingbird. Any views? The other front runners have been Phoenix (like the hippyness) and Lydon (after lead singer of Sex Pistols).

I've met some in London.

How about Diggory?

Sophiesmummie · 23/06/2011 12:57

cumbria, where do you live? I've never lived anywhere where an Atticus would have to cringe when introducing himself?

GeneralDreedlesNurse · 23/06/2011 13:21

Digby is the biggest dog in the world - don't do it! Diggory, Gregory or Dicken could be a compromise?

Phoenix - are a MelB wannabe? No? Then don't do it!!

Tiberious is an emperor and coupled with Atticus sounds terrible.

Atticus is Ok - but people will assume you are goth clothing fans (depending on age)

lostlady · 23/06/2011 13:22

Atticus is a great name

mumoftoomany · 23/06/2011 13:23

I like Atticus, as well as Tiberius (what's wrong with sharing a name with an emperor?!). I'm not that keen on Phonix, I'm afraid.

(I don't get the goth clothing association Hmm).

Atticus is a great name :)

HerRoyalNotness · 25/06/2011 03:46

Love it. Our little friend is called this and we considered for DS2

rachel234 · 25/06/2011 11:59

Not sure why these would be 'bonkers' Hmm.

I quite like Atticus but it is becoming popular. Lydon is nice (pronounced Lie-don) and less popular.

birdofthenorth · 25/06/2011 16:09

Quite like Atticus. Lydon would be mistaken for Lyndon a lot I think. Phoenix is Mel B (Scary Spice)'s daughter which would put me off it, particularly for a boy

cory · 25/06/2011 20:49

Nothing wrong with sharing a name with an emperor, but when it comes to sharing a name with a grumpy, stingy, paranoid and paedophile emperor...Hmm

Starsandcars · 05/07/2011 14:18

Another vote here for Atticus - I love the name.

Also like Digby

Have you decided which one to go for yet?

Atlas
